42.3 and 42.4 - "Speaking openly"

Both 42.3 and 42.4 have the character Gong1, which is usually translated with 'prince'. That doesn't however make much sense to me, and I found that Gong1 can also mean 'public' or 'open' (http://www.internationalscientific.org/Etymology.aspx?characterInput=%E5%85%AC). Gao4 Gong1 then becomes 'speaking openly'.

This is how I translated these lines:

42.3
<BLOCKQUOTE>One benefits from an unfortunate situation.
Without fault,
if there is sincerity,
balanced action,
and one speaks openly and upright.</BLOCKQUOTE>

42.4
<BLOCKQUOTE>Balanced action,
speaking openly,
and compliance,
are beneficial so as to handle reliably the moving of the capital city.</BLOCKQUOTE>

In 42.3 I translated Gui1 not with the usual 'jewel' or 'seal' but with 'upright'.
Muller has, among others, for Gui1 (http://www.acmuller.net/cgi-bin/xpr-dealt.pl?57.xml%2Bid('c572d')):
# Gallant, brave, upright, righteous.

To me, the meaning of these lines now seems much clearer and quite logical.

I was going through the forum looking for post about my cast of 42.3.4 and this post made it much clearer to me. My question was about if I should express myself wondering if it would further or hinder my purpose. My specific question was "Should I tell him I miss seeing him" and acording to your translation "Speak openly" sounds very straight forward to me.

By the way, my first post on forum. (ieie!...)
