Isabel is headed directly for me. In fact, if she still has an eye when she gets here, it might very well pass right over me. I've never experienced a hurricane before. This should be interesting.
How long do hurricanes last? What else should I know about hurricanes that might be helpful?

Hi Malka...
I'm not in LA. I'm from LA. I've been on the east coast for a little over 2 years now. LA is home...I spent most my life there, but I don't miss it...just a little sometimes. I'm going to miss it, though, when my family goes back there at the end of the year.
The hurricane changed direction and then changed direction again and ended up hitting not as hard as their original prediction, but harder than their revised prediction. Now I know how long they can last...we were pummeled by wind and rain here for almost twelve hours. Fran swept through in about two hours.
Lots of felled trees. There's one laying in the street right in front of my place...no through traffic...came down from across the street. It'll be some time before the city can come cut it up. They've got lots more in line ahead of this one.
Cheerio the noo,
Val
