Last week, I posted a thread only to retract it because I did not seek I Chings advice before posting it. After consulting I Ching have I received an answer: nr 8 with moving top line turning into nr 20. Incidentally, these are the same two symbols contained in the end of my academic work about I Ching, in which I asked I Ching, as part of my closing argument, “What is I Ching”? The answer than was nr 20 turning into nr 8, same two symbols! I Ching speaks with clarity and now I am bound to repost my original thread, so here it goes:
Hi.
A couple of years ago I wrote an essay for the department of History of Religions at Stockholm’s University and incorporated 3D images of the philosophy of I Ching for the first time ever in an academic paper. At the time I had a master’s degree in social anthropology and a background in sociology from the University of Stockholm.
As an academic I was very sceptic at first of any oracle claims but in all honesty I gave I Ching a fair shot and put it up to test with pure intentions of truth seeking. Every day for a month I asked I Ching how it would portray the upcoming day for me. I kept notes during the day and made comparisons of my day with the I Ching’s predictions. Results were more than surprising and soon I was hooked!
I feverishly perused the study of I Ching from different perspectives such as history, religion, anthropology, sociology, psychology and scepticism. Studying I Ching consumed my everyday continuously for 2 years. I even monitored www.onlineclarity.co.uk time to time as part of my fieldwork in order to be able to understand and place I Ching in a modern day context. All the insights of my studies and the religious / philosophical / practical ideas contained in I Ching have I expressed not only in written words but also with 3D pictures. After all, I Ching ultimately is build upon pictures!
To my knowledge, philosophical underpinnings of religious phenomenon like I Ching have not yet been expressed in this manner in any academic paper. At the same time this made my work look more of an entertainment than academic in the establishment. Further more, my findings, descriptions and particularly my attempt at scientific explanations for the legitimacy of the experience based I Ching phenomenon was coming real close at being in odds with orthodoxy of social science. Nevertheless, my work was reluctantly accepted as legitimate because it was deemed successful at managing, barely, to stay inside the boundaries of “old school” research-culture at the department of religious studies in Stockholm’s University.
I was happy that it was all over. I had written exactly the way I saw and understood the phenomena of I Ching and the establishment judged me to be allegeable for scientific thought in the research of religions. At the same time, apart from realizing and discovering a new religious dimensions in me, I was also growing mature with the knowledge of this ancient book growing inside me and manifesting it self in the way I perceive and carry my self in the world. I Ching opened a whole new dimension in me, a dimension somehow I always knew was there but now made accessible by the pictures, texts and the practices contained in I Ching. That is why I did not mind the fact that my essay was something of a laughable oddity among the scientific community.
Couple of year’s later, 3D mania led by the motion picture Avatar manifested itself everywhere. Suddenly it was very cool with 3D again and my work was not that out of touch with the times as it once seemed. It began to dawn on me that I should try to combine forces with others by communicating what I have.
Finally I decided to publish my work in kindle form. Sadly I lacked the resources and time to be able to translate it fully in to English. Therefore I published it partly translated in English and kept it partly in Swedish. By doing so I am hoping to create financial support which may land me time for further studies and most importantly be able to find quality time to create new 3D renditions of I Ching philosophy/practice.
As a token of my appreciation to all of you I Ching lovers out there, I would like to donate one of the main 3D pictures of my work to onlineclarity. The picture can be seen in 3D by crossing your eyes like children do sometimes for fun. For those who need further help seeing in 3D try this:

I am glad you liked it and was able to see the picture in 3D! Some percentage of the public inevitably will have hard time learning how to see in 3D using cross view technique :brickwall: I hope, "how to" link I posted will be of some help :bows:

LOL No problems at all. I spent a good portion of my childhood crossing my eyes for the fun effect of playing with visual perspectives. :D
(psssst, some here will now say: "Well, that explains a whole lot about Luis...")
