What do you make of 47 w/ moving line 1 - Not Good ??

I asked IC this morning, what I need to know right now and got 38 w/ moving 2 turning to 21. Because line 2 states "meeting one's Lord in a narrow street" I then asked - "Will I be happy to meet this person?" and got 47 w/ moving 1 turning to 58. Am I misinterpreting this or does it sound ominious to anyone else?

Yes, that line certainly has a negative text/auspice. I'm not quite sure what to make of it in your context (or lack thereof) but perhaps you will...

I would note that in many cases part of the solution to dealing with the 47 situation is attitudinal - taking the right attitude/perspective helps to deal with the situation appropriately.

Thank you both Jeff and Bruce for your comments; I'm still not quite sure what to make of these other than think that "meeting one's Lord on a narrow street" will be a good experience for me (I hope!)

Maybe think of "meeting one's lord, etc" as finding the way that's right for you, and 21 being your will which determines.

I think it's a grave mistake to think that Yi will predict or determine the success or failure of a relationship. That?s our responsibility, with a little help from one?s own lord.

When I asked the question this morning, it wasn't about a relationship, it was "what do I need to know right now?" when it came up. Of course I wouldn't expect the Yi to predict or determine the ultimate success or failure of any relationship because we all have the power of choice and free will.

I do however like your thoughts on finding the way that's right for me - that's something I've been trying to do for quite some time.

Just some meaning notes, not prophesy-

38.2 is both expedient and conspirational,
cuttng through (21) the red tape and protocol.
They're meeting to get something done with all critics absent. Similar in meaning to 29.4 - no time for silliness.

In 47.1, the word for valley is Gu3, and is also used at 48.2. This is one of the words in Chinese that has the same wide range of meanings there as it does in English - valley, rut, depression, being in a rut or depression, in need of some altitude or overview. (This also happens with Xue2, pit, used to gloss the Trigram of Kan - pit, pitiful, the pits, trap, depressing). At least with valleys there's more of a clear way out.

The narrow street where you meet your "lord" could be any unusual or different way of looking at things.

And I used to disdain 47 until I read Lise's site.....now I enjoy it..it is a reminder not to stay "down in the dumps" but to ......

Thank you all so very much for your insights and in answer to your question Rinda - no, I did not encounter anything that fits this reading - not unless I did it in my dreams last night and don't remember! I intend to ask IC this morning "what do I need to know NOW" and see what comes up ..... by the way, I was wondering, is one way more reliable than the other (ie: using the online IC reading or throwing the coins yourself?) Does anyone have a preference for which method seems to work best for them?

Through this online IC, I asked "what do I need to know right now" and got 51 w/ moving 1 and 4 turning into 2 and have a few questions -

1. what has been others' experience when they've received this hex? has it been more of something you've expereinced externally or internally?

2. what does it mean by line 2 - "shock is mired" ?

3. I also have another question about directions in IC but I think I'll start another thread in the friends section for this ie: what does it mean to find friends in the west and south and forego friends in the east and north? Are these actual directions or are they symbollic of something else?
