I wonder if one of these would help Lindsay any in his YiJing consultations with his cat.
I know I'M not getting one. My cat is obnoxious enough already without me knowing what she's actually saying.

Hi Val
How dare you call her obnoxious ?? She, like all cats, is a Zen Master.
When hungry, she eats - when tired, she sleeps, - when she thinks you're being a prat, one look is all she needs to use.
I've had the honour of living with many of these masters - I used to breed Siamese, Tonkanese and Burmese cats.
You just have to feel honoured that she has chosen to continue to live with you. They're wonderful teachers.

Dear Val,
Thank you so much! Thanks to Meowlingual, I now know what my cat is saying in Japanese! Or rather, I know the Japanese equivalent of what my cat is saying. As soon as I learn Japanese, some things are going to change around here! Because then I can speak Japanese into Meowlingual and have it translated into cat language.
In fact, I'm thinking of buying Bowlingual, too. It should be easy to wire the two appliances together so the dog and the cat can converse with each other (through the medium of Japanese). I wonder what they will talk about? Now that I think about it, maybe I should cancel my order. I definitely don't want those two talking to each other in a language I can't understand.
Probably things are fine the way they are. None of us understands each other, and that seems to work pretty well.
Val, where do you come up with this stuff?

Lindsay...
This one was courtesy of cnn.com...you gotta love slow news days.
Frandoch...
You raised Siamese??? My mother loved Siamese. And I swear this cat is part Siamese...when she has something to say, she's intense. She's also possessive. Whenever anyone tries to talk to me, she stands on my right foot with one of her back feet. And if we don't get the hint, she'll pick it up and put it back down.
She also snuggles...very loving.
Cheerio the noo,
Val

Haha, Lindsay, cats and dogs conversing with each other in Japanese.
Is that your definition of Zen?

I think that as we do not have a photo of Lindsay, a picture of his dog and cat would be a good substitute. After all they are 'virtually' Clarity pets/mascots and crop up regularly whenever Lindsay is wishing to illustrate a particularly difficult point. Indeed I consider them as much members of this forum as anyone else.

Ha ha, my request has been met ! But I was puzzled for I thought the lady in the picture was Val, and that it was not Lindsays cat at all but Vals ? But then Vals cat is part Siamese and this one does not look Siamese. Well the lady in the picture resembles Val in her prison photo ?
It must be Lindsays long suffering wife ? Or maybe its Lindsay, and he's been kidding us he's a man all along ? Who knows. Either way the cat is exactly how I always imagined him/her to be (i think its a boy, looks butch) A fine and noble cat, radiating wisdom - and a degree of cynicism I think. But what of the dog ? Possibly its time to take them both to a studio for a professional shot of the pair of them ?

Louise -
That's my daughter and the cat, who has just told a very good joke about dogs in Japanese.
