Relationship,relationship....romance?

Although I too have been fortunate to receive guidance from the I Ching over the years, I find that interpreting a reading for myself is quite challenging.

I wonder if any of you may kindly help with a few intuitive thoughts.

I asked what I can expect from my relationship with W__ and got hex 9 with changing lines 5 and 6 and then hex 11. My question referred to romantic guidance. What should I take away here. Thanks mb

Do not allow your thought to go beyond your situation. The more you allow your thoughts to stray from the present, the more you will feel the pain. So do not dwell on the past or obsess about the future.
Do not swept along by your emotions as the events will grow out of control and you no longer feel able to stop them. Don't let the other people make choices for you and determine your destination. Instead, making your own choices and thinking for yourself.

At this time you need to stay on your toes to maintain a 'thoughtful balance'. For things to flourish and develop well you have to take advantage of opportunities that present themselves but only in the most cautious of ways. You can't appear, or even feel like you are trying to force an outcome of any kind. This time is used best making behind the scenes plans, gathering information and innocently discussing possibilities with others in a gentle and tactful manner. You may be tempted to 'act' more ambitiously but it isn't the time for that yet. The groundwork must be prepared in small ways right now so think 'friendly persuasion'.

Dear Mnbm2,

Just to add some comments on the subject, when I receive Hex 9 regarding a relationship I always think about subtle methods, small gestures and gentle behaviour. It seems to me that it is a moment of sensitive and well-planned strategy rather than effective action. That is my idea of the ?power of the small? underlying this hexagram.
The fifth moving line talks about sincerity and commitment based on selfless cooperation. And in the top sixth changing line there is an important advice: when and if success is achieved do not try to go further, do not push too hard, because although things appear going quite well ?the moon will soon begin to wane?. Therefore, be content with what you have at the present moment and remain attentive and cautious.

Thank you and I have been trying to stay in the present- as hard as it is. Some days are better than others and it is especially difficult for a dreamer.

Dharma,
Do I have an outcome in mind? sure would like one but I will be mindful of the advice and take small steps and gather my energy and thoughts to gently progress to wherever the road may take us.
