Hi Jill,

I imagine that getting the same card twice within any time span, if the question is asked in present tense and circumstances haven't changed (much) would be quite high. I've see it happen time and again here, hidden within the many pages on this site, quite frequently.

Hi Jill,

Welcome, and thank you for your kind words about the site!

For your question - it depends what you mean by 'odds'! Mathematically, you can't measure it, because there isn't a place in the equation to slot in 'and it was the same question'. (You could measure the odds of getting those two readings in succession, and it would be pretty small, I would guess - but this wouldn't mean much!)

For the rest, Alisa is right, it does often happen. If the I Ching is giving you the same hexagram and lines repeatedly, it means it! And I would expect that one difference to be important, also. If you'd like to sign up as a Friend (see at the top of the LH menu on this page) and share your readings, we'd be happy to help, not least with those ambiguous resulting hexagrams.
