Mythos, The Shaping of Mythic Tradition, by Joseph Campbell.

I've viewed this ten hour, three DVD set some five or more times. Every time I sit down to watch it or even part of it, I am illuminated.

In this series, Campbell moves briskly through his lectures on:

Psyche and Symbol
The Spirit Land
On being Human
From Goddess to God

The Mystical Life
The Inward Path
The Enlightened One
Our Eternal Selves

The Way to Illumination
The Experience of God

Though these titles may sound vague and New Age, Campbell succeeds in bringing these subjects down to earth through his extensive knowledge of myth and human psychology. His personality is genuine and engaging throughout.

This series connects seamlessly with everything I find in the Yijing and in all related matters that we discuss here on this board.

The series is pretty spendy http://www.amazon.com/Joseph-Campbell-Mythos/dp/B00005Y71U/sr=8-2/qid=1158377293/ref=pd_bbs_2/002-0268018-7006470?ie=UTF8&s=dvd , but if you're like me, you'll want to watch it more than once. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Well, we can also rent the DVD's. Although they might not be easy to find, but they do have them at Netflix:

So, are you gonna order it? If you do, let me (us) know what you think.

Cool :)

I know LiSe has it too. Maybe she'll offer her opinion of it here.

Strangely, I find Campbell's writing style tedious, but he comes alive in his lectures. Consequently, so does his material.
