Hi everybody. i could use a little help with a couple of readings. basically the first question was what if I act now, and the second was what if I act later.
for reading one I got 30.2.5->1. This one kind of confused me. i'd guess line 2 is saying that now is the right time to act, but line 5...that's a strange one."tears flowing in torrents and groaning in sorrow. there will be progress and success." theres a contradiction if ever I saw one. In Legge's notes it says that the groaning in sorrow indicates sincerity, and this is what leads to the good fortune, but it's still a weird line. as for the secondary hex, hex 1...in my last post about hex 2, someone said that the first hexagram indicated a state where the spirit of the idea lives but you're in no position to carry it out...any thoughts?
the second reading gave me 60.2.4 -> 17. I could use a little clarification on this too. does this reading say that I should restrain myself and wait until later or that i have already restrained myself for long enough and should act now? if i take the second line alone it could be saying that if i wait any longer, i'll "lose the time for action to a great degree" but if i take both moving lines together, it seems to be saying I should "sweetly and acceptably enact" my regulations(ie. keep waiting), though if I don't take action when the time comes, then I'll miss the opportunity. the secondary hexagram, 17, is one i don't have much experience with, so any help with that would be greatly appreciated.
sorry about the length of this, but i wanted to give you my own insights on the readings. and just one more thing, based on the two answers, do you think it would be better to act now or later?
thanks!!!
