From July 28, Wuhan University reportedly will provide an adult education program, in which university teachers and experts will explicate traditional Chinese classics such as the Analects, the I Ching and Tao Te Ching, and instruct students in reading the texts.
Helping propagate our traditional culture would have been a good thing, if the project had not imposed conditions in terms of threshold of money and social status.
According to the initiator of the program, the intended participants are all intermediate and high-level executives of enterprises, government officials and other "social elites," who hold at least a bachelor's degree.
