Hi All,
Hot on the heels of our shiny new look come some changes to subscriptions. If you joined recently, or if you recently visited the members' area (http://www.onlineclarity.co.uk/members/) and happened on 'Subscriptions Central (http://www.onlineClarity.co.uk/members/subscriptions.php)', you'll already know about 'Friends' Notes'. This is (or rather will be) a twice-monthly short-ish email from me with
ICC links/ news
links to blog posts
any other I Ching news I come acrossThis replaces (and expands on) the 'Answers' newsletter, which has been a collection of blog links for a while now. But unlike 'Answers', it's only for members.
How you get it
First, you won't start receiving this by default. You can sign up for it on the subscriptions page (http://www.onlineclarity.co.uk/members/subscriptions.php), or alternatively you can wait and watch your inbox for news. I'll be sending out one email to everyone - 'Answers' subscribers and Friends together - to explain the changeover. And shortly after that, all Friends (at least all who'd joined by today, when I exported the list  ) will get an email with a confirmation link to click if you'd like to get 'Notes'.
Not-very-important technical details:
In the course of all this, I'm changing over from running the lists from Clarity's server to running them from Aweber, which is a big autoresponder company that's actually some good at getting email delivered nowadays. (I'm not.) This won't make much difference to you, except you'll see links beginning with www.aweber.com instead of onlineClarity. Aweber are super-strict about importing subscribers, which is why you either need to sign up yourself, or else click the confirmation link. I can't send you any emails from there until Aweber knows you've given me permission.
Duplication...
...may happen somewhat. If you have several accounts here, you'll get an email to each of them about this. And unless Aweber does something very sophisticated, you may still receive that confirmation email even if you've already subscribed. Apologies in advance for any email that becomes a nuisance. This is a one-off thing; you won't get duplicates of the actual newsletter (unless you're so keen you ask for them, of course).
Summing up
I've written far too much. What else is new?
There's nothing you really need to do about this at this stage. Keep half an eye on your inbox, and presently (probably Wednesday or Thursday) you'll see the official missive with the subject line, "Please verify your subscription to clarityfriends". That's the one with the confirmation link to click if you'd like the Notes.
Any questions?
