Hi,
I am quite happy to see people exchange their ideas on this forum. I am new to Iching but since I am spritually inclined I believe in it. I am at present at a point in my life where I feel very restricted in my situation and the same is the case with my husband. I have been practicing goal making in harmony with universal forces....but haven't done that for some while now. I asked the yi about whether I should go on and get out of my current situation of restriction and create what I want . The response was hexagram 1 lines 1,5 moving to hexagram 50. I take line 5 as positive but I am confused with line 1 also moving. What do you guys feel is the Yi trying to tell me?

Hi,
Just a small note to add to the above paragraph. The situation I am referring is actually related to our(myself and my husband's) jobs. We work in the same place...but we feel we are not properly utilised and respected and also being exploited. We would like to go closer to our relatives and stop living the life where we are not valued. We are very well qualified and need a place we can be utilised in a much better way (a new job in a better place?)

The I.C. is telling you, yes, get out of the limiting circumstances that you find yourself in but not right away. Line 1.1 cautions you to hang back before making any move, be patient and wait for the your situation to become clearer. Maybe there is something you don't know about or have not taken into account yet.

I am new to the Ching as well but I see lines 1,5 as representing the development in your current situation. From now [you cannot use your abilities and creative energy] to a point when your potential will be fulfilled and your competence will be recognised. I believe it is saying that you do not need to feel anxious or force the issue because your time will come.

Exactly what Willowfox said. Creative energy will transform you or your life, or both. But don't move on it right away.

Hi,
Exactly what Willowfox said. Creative energy will transform you or your life, or both. But don't move on it right away.
Do you mean I should hang on in my current situation and things will change within this situation (i.e. in the same place and the same job )or time will come when I will be able to move to some other place?
Cheers,

I asked the yi about whether I should go on and get out of my current situation of restriction and create what I want . The response was hexagram 1 lines 1,5 moving to hexagram 50.
You asked the Yi about 'creating' something and it gave you Hex 1, The Creative, as a response. Hex 1, The Creative, is about creative energy moving through your life. It has its own agenda, but we have the ability sometimes to use or direct some of that energy as we see fit. It's very important to use it well, because it's a powerful force.
Okay, so you asked the Yi if you should go on and get out of your current situation of restriction and create what you want. The Yi responded like this: "Yes, but don't do so right away. Wait for a bit - either this isn't quite the right time, or you need to think about this a bit more before you act - but then when you do create what you want (Line 1.5), do so powerfully. The overall result will truly be transformative."

Stay in your present job for the moment and when the time is right you will certainly find something better to go to.
