hexagram 60.6 and 60.3.6

Hello,

I am new to the forum. I asked the iching 2 questions and interestingly got similar answers.

The first question is: How I do stay in integrity and ethical behavior and also maintaining protection for myself in dealing with my mother?

Note: My mother is a narcissist and has done much damage to me that I have worked hard to overcome.

The answer was 60.6 changing to 61.

The other question was how do effectively lead my friend to see the unhealthy state his relationship with his mother has left life without judging?

The answer was 60.3.6. changing to 9.

I am new to interpreting the iching so I was wondering if anyone had some insight for me. Thank you.

i think these answers are similar for two reasons. 1)you are very close to your friend and perhaps see reflected in him some of yourself and 2) you need to set an example for him by your own distancing from your mother. 60.6 says to take time to examine very closely your mother's influence on you. have you for example tried too hard not to be narcissistic? after a good self-examination make a real effort to be yourself. 60.3 says absolutely not to preach to your friend. maybe he is going too far in something ,dangerously, but you can only be loving and understandingly open, offering alternatives not blame (9)
