I am still trying to learn about different ways to interpret the IC and am not quite sure how to make out exactly what is being said although it sounds somewhat encouraging. I did this on this website using the free reading so don't know how accurate this normally is but here is what my question was and what I got. I should also let you know that he actually seemed to put a stop to any further progressing of the relationship in what seemed a resolute manner.

What is _____ decision about our relationship.

#31 lines 3,4 then #8

just did another reading online and question was: What are _____feelings for me and answer was #59 line 2 into #20

also since I want to get at this from all angles another question was: What can you tell me about ______ and my relationship. Answer was #12 line 4 into #20

Ha Ha I'm on a roll I also asked ' How will a relationship with _____ unfold. Answer #5

thanks for any help with this

Just in case the comment could be useful

You asked several questions, but you didn't ask the most important questions: what about YOUR own feelings and YOUR own decisions.

Anyhow, the relation has been facing a hard time of stagnation (spetially the first half of 2007); the consecuence is: right now the relation is under deep evaluation, there is a need to examinate and evaluate the past, to decide any further movement. The fortune or misfortune to come in the future will depend on the mature or inmature vision used to evaluate the present today.

Best wishes

All the answers suggests that there is no solid relationship here, it speaks of him having no real feelings for you but it does suggest something here is coming to an end. You got Hex 20 twice meaning he is not taking any physical action and then you got Hex 5 another answer that indicates no action.

thanks for your answers. It is very helpful to get someone else's take on this. I had a completely different impression when I did the reading.

I took #5 as meaning I should let things unfold in due time without rushing things. "All transactions require patient waiting, and it is particularly essential for a ruler that his plans should be brought to fruition through continuous influence".

I also thought #8 Holding Together [Union} was a good one.

And # 12 line 4 " The mid-point of the stagnation has been passed. Order is gradually being re-established. Here again as in the preceding hexagram minister and ruler are united".

#59 line 2 " He does not act from egoistic motives, but wishes to put a stop to the dissolution, and this he finally achieves in fellowship with the nine in the fifth place" That sounds good to me too.

Maybe I shouldn't bother with the commentaries on the lines? Should I rely on intuition or try to delve deeper into the meaning of the words?

thanks much appreciated :)

Read the commentaries but don't try too hard to get what they are saying. Feel the roughness and smoothness of the image that is being painted for you. Sometimes you will see the music at other times your head will be swathed in cotton wool.
Listen carefully to what is being said, not to what you want to hear.

I ching consultation is like a flu bug doing the rounds in the neighbourhood. Sometimes you get it and it knocks you out, at other times you only catch it a bit and occassionally you don't get it all.
