I'd appreciate if anyone can share experience or insight on this line. I asked about rescuing my financial situation http://www.onlineclarity.co.uk/I_Ching_community/clipart/blush.gif. Three foxes, a golden arrow ? Despite reading alot of commentaries inc Karcher its not clear to me, can't relate to what the 3 foxes are ? Would you take this line as encouraging alot of very proactive goal pursuing ?

Void,
Coincidental, but am currently in a very challenging financial situation, and my dog and I have encountered three foxes this week in the urban park we visit early each morning (5:00 - 6:00 am). These encounters must have foretold good luck, as my paycheck this week included a large amount of accrued overtime pay!
Earlier this year, foxes crossed in front of my car at night in my previous neighborhood. One even stopped on the sidewalk and turned to look me straight in the eye instead of running down a creek bank into a wooded area as was usually the case. After these encounters, several positive changes took place in my life -- significantly a change in employment and better, more affordable housing arrangements.
I also remember the use of the fox as a symbol in hexagram 64, where the fox, on his way to success, is warned not to let his tail splash into the water before he got safely on the dry bank. This story stands out in my mind since I used to draw hex 64 quite often, always at times that I wished I was further along in my journey.
I'm speculating, but the foxes might be considered a symbol of a possible positive outcome. I also remember reading in Karcher's Encyclopedia of Divination that animals we encounter could be message-bearers.
I'm curious to find out how your situation turns out vis-a-vis your reading. Good luck with your finances!

Thankyou Chris what a heart warming post for me at this time, I could use some luck ! I was pleased to receive 40 but have about zero energy reserves to 'go and get' that 'release' at this time. Shooting foxes looked a bit beyond me, (well Wilhelm talks of killing them, though Karcher doesn't ?) I will let you know if any opportunities show up soon.

I had a similar experience with a real fox, Void, and good results followed. I had never seen a fox jump out like that in front of me as I drove.
This line, though...a good clear intention and the ability to really focus and follow through. You say you feel low on energy, but maybe you are already on target. Maybe you already know very clearly and cleanly what it is you need to do, and maybe you have already proven yourself...you've bagged the crafty little devils that have been vexing you, whatever they may be...now be bold and sure of yourself. Not necessarily "proactive" but just sure. YOu've been given an arrow, symbolic of the way being pointed out? and you've already proven yourself to be a worthy hunter. Follow through. Intend precisely.
BY the way, the sorrells (I Ching made easy) call the three foxes "greed, hatred and ignorance" but I have no idea how they arrived at that.
all the best, Micheline
