This week, one major news event caught my attention and when I used the time of the event to create the related symbol, the text was startling:
Event: In South Korea, in Seoul city, the great Namdaemun Gate was burned down by a drunken arsen Feb 10 at 8:50 pm. This beautiful gate is 610 years old, and considered to be Korea's No. 1 national treasure. The arsenist has burned down another similar historic site a couple years ago.
The resulting image was #24 Fu , line 6, which reads:
"Confusedly turning back.
Misfortune.
There are calamity and trouble.
Engaging in mobilizing the multitude;
In the end: a great defeat
To the ruler of the state: misfortune.
Ten years:
Unable to launch out again."
What a true-to-life description of the event, a man returning to destroy another public treasure out of anger, and the Seoul fire department struggling in vain as the Gate burned to the ground, while millions of people watched on tv and in person in the streets. It will cost the government much money to rebuild as well.
