Hex 19 and decision

There is a man I am frustrated with. I feel in a state of limbo with him.

My question was:

What should I do about my relationship with Z?

Hex 19 is one of my favourite hexagrams.

Approach - Arrival of the new; approach of something powerful and meaningful; welcome draw nearer and closer

There is something coming that will change the relationship. Welcome this and don't rush to completion.

Line 2
Conjunction nearing, The Way is open. There is nothing for which this is not be advantageous.

This is the return of something important. Be open. Provide what is needed.

Knowledge meaning, The Great Leader sacrifices at the Great Altar. The Way is Open

Articulate things. Find your voice. Take things in.

Hex 3
Difficulty at the Beginning
Begin, establish, found, gather your strength, surmount difficulties.

The old time is ending, while a new time is sprouting a new. Take this time to strip away old ideas and experiences.

I don't know if this means that something is coming I don't know about yet and to just be a little more patient or whether I should say something about my frustrations and then change will come.

What should I do about my relationship with Z?

Hex 19.2,5 > 3 This is very good and bodes well for the future of your relationship, you need to be able to cooperate together but you need self restraint, don't try and control or smother him, let him do his own thing.
Hex 3 says that the relationship will go through struggles, growing pains, but to take no notice and just persevere with it then it will turn out well in the end.

I've never ever experienced this with 19. I still don't get 19 though I'm inclined to think that which approaches is only a whisper of something almost intangible. Hence I see it as a kind of so so answer - theres nothing much there yet but there might be, but with 19 I reckon its definately a 'might'. Maybe thats why you feel frustrated ? Its like potentiality with nothing happening. Anyhow i wouldn't sit and wait for any 'great approach', it may call for a bit more action on your part to make things happen between you

Wondering why 19 is your favourite hexagram ?

Yes, it's not my experience of 19 either. It has very often meant managing energy wisely - or a kind of "wise up" feel to it. For 19 to live up to it's positive aspects it seems you have to tend the growth or potential pretty carefully before things can come to some sort of resolution or fruition. Fits with the problem solving and preparation of 3 too. Line 5 seems to reiterate that point.

Recently I've been seeing the 'great approach' of Hex 19 not as something great approaching me, but as my own great approach to some sort of undertaking - sort of rolling up my sleeves and taking on responsibility for something important. 19 is the flip side of 20, which is all about just contemplating the situation but not doing anything about it. With 19, you take it on and get to work.

And if THAT is the case, then the answer to her question about what she should do about the guy is straightforward: go and get him, deal with the situation, and do it now cuz later on you won't have the same opportunity. Timeliness is paramount with 19.
