Do I take the second hex into consideration at all since there's just one moving line?

As for me, I opt for the first alternative in the interests of simplicity, cuz I'm an unsophisticated person. Others on this site like to have as much information as possible, so they look at EVERYTHING. It's your choice, really, but if I was you I'd look at everything and then reflect on what out of all of it was the most useful. (And THAT is why after years of use, I've decided to opt for the first approach described above - it's the one that I get the most value out of.)
