hex 18 to 56 and hexagram 57 changing to 1

Thanks for all the answers in my previous questions.
Yesterday I asked the question " will I be able to catch my husband cheating". I got the answer hexagram 18 changing to 56.

I was very stressed out. He fought with me yesterday..well I just wanted to have a discussion with him on our relationship and how we could make it better but he got very agitated and was shouting and said that he hates me. He said you cannot get anything from me. When I said atleast you should treat me like a human. He said he does not care since he hates me. When I touched on separating he said well we can do it in September when my daughter is big enough to go to school.

I must have cried the whole day tomorrow and his reaction when he saw me was to yawn and be more rude. He spoke about my relationship before marriage and said everyone has been like this to me and I should be used to it. He was very mean.( we both had a relationship before we saw each other, my ex cheated on me and his gf left him, he never told me the reason but I never mention her because I believe that is the past"but he always taunts me on my previous relationship and any fling that I had and the fact that I was cheated upon and says I am used to that in my life and this will keep on happening in my life" but he denys cheating on me.
Today morning I asked iching the question" how will i get happiness in my life. Please show me the way"
I got hexagram 57 changing to 1. Please help

Hi there,

You are in a very difficult time indeed. Having someone throw hate all over you is not all what you need and I don't think you need the I Ching to know that. I am a brand new I Ching consulter so I am sure I'm not the best person to help with your reading but it does seem to me to be pointing you to taking action in this situation that has become untolerable.

You asked if you will be able to catch your husband cheating and I find it interesting why you didn't just ask if your husband is cheating. You need to know that information. Hexagram 18 calls for action in the face of a bad situation. Personally I would ask my husband if he were cheating - this could trigger all kinds of stuff that will be hard to deal with, but you have to face this stuff I think.

Here is something that does not have to do with the I ching directly. I have been married for 15 years and there have been terrible times. One thought that has kept me here with my loved one is the realization that if I don't get these things straigthened out with him now, I will just have to do so with someone else another day.

it is difficult, you have to coach yourself to be unswerving, line 1, you have to practice detaching from him, and keep doing it, 57, really find the UMPH to do that (hex 1 is lots of UMPH.)

It so happens I drew Hex 18 yesterday too, so I'm quite interested in it at the moment :)

18 is translated variously as 'Work on what has been spoiled' and 'decay'. I don't think it refers to action as in 'rushing into action', rather it means working on yourself and whatever in you has allowed a situation to develop. For example, it might mean examinng your beliefs around the area of your life that is giving you a problem. So, what are your beliefs about marriage, relationships etc? Where have these come from? It may be that you need the help of a therapist to sort this out.

Whether your husband is cheating or not, what would be gained by confrontation? Would it be better to work on your own self esteem so that you can deal with him with dignity and your head held high? Only you know.

Line 2 is about you letting your husband slowly destroy the relationship, but it warns you to proceed carefully.
Line 4 is saying that the trouble started quite awhile ago and now his true colours are showing but it says that you are not in a good position to do anything much about him and you will be subject to further upsets if you let him continue in the way he is doing at the present.
Hex 56 is about going it alone, clearing out and finding somewhere else to stay.

It says nothing about catching him cheating, so like I said before, it probably isn't.

Line 1 says that you must become tough and strong, be like a soldier, stand up for yourself, be self disciplined and don't let anyone push you around or bully you.
Line 4 says to be both modest and steadfast, have no doubts about you ability to find happiness be determined to get what you want and then you will get it.

Hex 1 says use the power of positive thinking to achieve your goal.
