Hi,
This is my first time posting to this forum. I started using the I Ching for the first time just a couple of days ago (unless you count the yarrow sticks my mom gave me when I was 10, that I loved to use, but heck I was only ten and loved spooky stuff), and I'm noticing lots of incredible things that I'd like to bounce off of you wonderful people.

I've only asked 9 questions so far. 9 questions in 3 days and I feel like the 9 answers are worth about a year in psychotherapy. Have I been given the tool for exponential personal growth? Are you using the I Ching in this manner? Is it normal that the past two nights I have been exhausted, but good exhausted, sleeping gratefully?

I am struck by the power of the changing lines. These so far have pointed to the things that are sticking in my craw. I keep coming back to them. Bumping into them. Do you have this experience?

And one final thought (actually I've got about 100 for you, but I'm striving for turtle like behavior these days), since the I Ching speaks of energy patterns ought we not pose our questions with this in mind? Yes or no questions seem like the answer could be interpreted either way.

Too much at once I know. I can't help myself. I'm in love.

Kind regards to all,

Kim

PS I just read a post by Gene and I loved it. Gotta keep digging there. And thank you Hilary for this site (I hope that's not the last time I say that!)

Hi
Join Hilarys tutorial to learn how to use the moving lines and much more. Get a variety of translations - don't use just one - find the one that suits you but read about the background and Chinese history - its facinating. The Chinese think differently to westeners and you should try to get into their mindset. Its all well and good making many readings but you also need to be in a position to undestand the results as they are not always as they first appear. I have found that the question you ask is not always the answer given. The answer may relate to some thing else that is worrying you and that worry has subliminally overspilled into the question you asked.

Hi Kim,

Sounds to me that you may have had this IC connection before, somewhere in time, and have retained your connection. Only specualtion, of course.

I think that relating to the Yijing in terms of energies is an excellent approach.

Welcome, Kim.

to keep "bumping into" the lines is a lovely way to put it.
