I don't know what your relationship with X is but it would appear that X has designs to get closer to you, perhaps this is for love, financial benefit or whatever.

Thanks again for this response! I have a genuine desire to repair this breach. I am getting lots of feedback on patience and timing, so I will go forward with this apology and flow as I must. So hard. I am one for my enthusiasms; this situation is forcing me to reconsider my point of view (ie: grow up)!

Again, thank you for your response. Your interpretation helps; I didn't want to proceed on the assumption I was acting on selflessly when I was actually seeing this answer the way I want to see it.
