It's a ghastly possibility, isn't it?

Because of the intimate and strong interaction between body and mind, I can easily understand how an organ transplant could affect someone's mind drastically. But as deep as the soul level? No, no way.

There are many issues to evalute from this piece of news. One is that we tend to think of memories (in this particular cases )as a function of the brain and therefore stored somewhere in the brain.Clearly in this article what transpire is an ability of an internal organ to also retain memories and,on top of that,to transmite them to another person when implanted. That's mind boggling(no pun intended)Second ,by accepting that then we also might argue that memory is a function of the whole body and not just the brain.
Third ,what is the soul? How can we say "soul transplant"when in fact we are talking about memories for example or feelings trigerred by those precise memories. Is it conciousness we are really talking about?and if that is so,is it tranplantable, too? Is knowledge holographically contained in the whole body and not just in the brain?
