A very brave (and beautiful) woman who is a personal heroine of mine and she's given her intellectual prowess and formidable communication skills to shine a light on what's happening in the US at the moment. Supremely eloquent and accessible, if you're not clued into what's been happening then this will put most of it in very clear terms.

I urge everyone - especially Americans - to watch this 30 minute long video if you haven't done so yet.

The End of America - A Letter of Warning to a Young American Patriot (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aW9PulYpjGs&NR=1)

That's a good video.

I'm pretty much the most apolitical person on this planet, but I'm sensing a shift to the right in all sorts of ways these days. It's like a wave of bullies and bully thinking. I live in Canada, and there are Canadian troops in Afghanistan right now and not a lot of public debate about it. There are cops and security guards tasering people and some of them are dying, and not only is the technology not being banned, but it's being supported by authority figures who claim the users are trained in the proper use of the thing. You don't hear a lot of people speaking out against this stuff, because people don't want to be seen as unpatriotic. Real patriotism does speak out against bullies and bully thinking though.

While I'm usually not outspoken about these things on this forum (not in favor of these topics here, actually), and typically lean just right of political center, I support what Ms. Wolf puts forth here.

One other thing I've noticed is the ramping up of tough cop shows, where cops apprehend alleged criminals with a zealous display of brute force. Since it is accepted, that these are the bad guys, the viewers develop an apathetic and calloused view toward violence against our own citizens. These shows are nothing new, of course, but their frequency and level of violence has obviously increased.

Yet another disturbing media trend is the proliferation and massive popularity of CSI type of forensic shows, where unedited regular dissecting of the human body is gratuitous and purely sensational. This serves to desensitize the mind toward violations against humanity; and possibly even more hideous than desensitization, developing a taste for human dismemberment and gore.

It's amazing, the garbage we humans feed ourselves.

Bush?

I really don't think so, he maybe sneaky but he ain't smart enough for something this big.

In the end, I don't think this is about the label of "politics" per se. It's about basic humanity and our connection to others; about our own sense of identity and our place in this world. It all comes back to self-awareness and self-knowledge as to how we process the information we see and hear. In a very real sense therefore - for me at least - this is directly related to the principles of the I Ching: who we are and what we see: how we can best be aligned to Tao/Spirit/Truth etc.

As to who is dictator...Well, Bush is most definitely a dictator - right now. He ignores congress and ignores the laws and his agencies engage in some of the most reprehensible acts on this planet - or else they outsource it! I'm afraid the Bush clan is only the stepping stone to a much more serious state of affairs if we are not able to stand against it. The ball is definitely in America's court. Hopefully, it isn't too late.

As to who's been chosen to carry the baton - well, just as Wolf cautions - don't expect anything to change as these candidates have been carefully vetted. (my bet is Hilary has been chosen, in order to continue the monopoly of the Bush/Clinton dynasty and their agenda).

However, I'm still optimistic that truth will out in the end. If you don't have hope then you become a victim of it all which doesn't help anyone.

Thanks for the comments,
