Calendaric Calculations

I'm starting a new thread - because I can't recall where Jesed so generously wrote the "rules" for us.

Jesed - in your example of Traveling - Hex. 56, you said the dates went until January 31, yet you say the dates are in the past. It is only January 10. So how does that figure?

Also, where do these calculations come from? Isn't the Chinese calendar different from ours?

Is this some way to link with astrology or is it strictly I Ching.

Also, can you recommend some reading.

Has anyone else used this method as a routine way of reading I Ching?
