Where are you, LiSe??!!

I was just surfing the archives here, and the web, looking for interpretations of a particular hexagram, when (as usual), I tried LiSe's site to see what hers would have to say. I was shocked to discover that her site couldn't be accessed!! I've been trying for about fifteen minutes now, through my history, through various search engines, front door, back door and all around the town and NOTHING!! Oh, I've concerned now. So I asked the I Ching:

Waiting for something. Be patient while what you are waiting for is still likely to happen. As long as you don't forget about what you are waiting for, things will go well. When the moment is there, do what you got to do.

(The availability of sunlight denotes the time that it makes sense to wait, like until the end of the day, or perhaps until rain clouds obscure the sun. "Having confidence in the sunlight," is being patient while there is sunlight. Patience is a kind of confidence or trust.)

I love it--but don't know what the heck it means. I use AOL (yeah, I know, shoulda gotten rid of them years ago but you know what they say about old dogs...). Is anyone else having the same problem? And how accurate might this 39.1.2 > 5 be?

The answer is very simple, you cannot access her website at the moment, so hex 5 says to wait and be patient and try again later.

I have just accessed her website quite easily.

Such a lesson, Willowfox. I'm sure you're right, but my server just won't take me there now. I've been warned that the AOL "shell" has various problems, including NOT taking the subscriber where they want to go. If you just went there, then I'm sure the problem is on my end.

As you said, #5 says to wait and be patient. And I just love #39.1.2, where it says, going through trouble, arriving at improvement (from your mouth to god/dess's ear), and especially line 2 where it says it's not the king [LiSe:-)] but the king being given trouble by someone! I just love the Yi--it works on so many levels.

Thanks, Willowfox, for your encouragement and for the information that her wonderful site hasn't been lost in cyberspace. My computer and I will take a nap and "have confidence in the sunlight", trying again tomorrow.

BTW--many thanks, Hilary, for suggesting the link to Ewald's site. While trying to find LiSe's site, I came upon a web page of yours with a link to his site, where I got the Yi's advice that the trouble wasn't on LiSe's end, and that I should just wait and be patient, as Willowfox says.

I usually use a few other sites to get a reading online, including your lovely, succinct and amazingly accurate one, since I prefer to physically throw coins (lost my yarrow sticks, wahhhhh). But Ewald's is a new favorite now, thanks to you.

It's working fine for me now - just as well, or I'd be panicking, too. LiSe, tell your web host they'll be responsible for us all having kittens if you don't get 100% uptime. ;)

I agree with Willowfox's nice simple take on the reading, and with her recommendation of Firefox... though I'm not sure whether it might be the AOL browser or the actual connection that causes trouble.

I'm glad you like Ewald's site. His software is good, too - a combination of the reading process from his site (but with the option of getting all your moving lines, thank goodness), with a journal with an excellent search function that's like a more sophisticated version of the hexagram search here.

The old link in my Favorites folder doesn't take me to Lise's site anymore - it connects me with some of Anton's stuff instead. I had to create a new link. Something's changed.

I know that LiSe's been very busy for quite awhile, and that she's moved some things around on her web space, including creating/expanding a site to sell Anton's works.

The time that Nancy's asked about, LiSe's server was down awhile. Thankfully, neither she nor her site(s) are planning to go anywhere.

As Bruce says, she's been working like a whole anthill with Anton's works and expanding that part of the website. I'm happy she's seeing light at the end of that tunnel and can take a brake. She should be very proud.

Working like a whole anthill, that is exactly how it feels. Making a big exhibition and everything which comes with it, lots of publicity, a webshop and lots of mails, a newsletter, and writing a book which has grown too big for one single book. So actually writing four books at once, each about one aspect.

Found lots of beautiful links and texts Luis posted, so there is a lot to read too.
