Why are the changing lines so cryptic !?!?

I just asked the Yi if my boyfriend was being honest... and Is he trustworthy?

I got Hexgram 6 (Conflict/Compromise)

but I need help understanding the changing lines...

I found this on a website...but what does it mean??

Nine in the second place means:
One cannot engage in conflict;
One returns home, gives way.
The people of his town,
Three hundred households,
Remain free of guilt.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Six in the third place means:
To nourish oneself on ancient virtue induces perseverance.
Danger. In the end, good fortune comes.
If by chance you are in the service of a king,
Seek not works.

What should I do? How should I react?

What is the Yi trying to tell me to do, be or know ?

I think you should phrase your question better-because you asked yes/no question, and in my experience when you ask such a question it's hard to understand the answer. I got the very same reading few months ago.
By line 2 in my situation yi ying was telling me to give up, cause I can't win.
Line 3 in my opinion is about not seeking acceptance. Do what you think is right to you (moraly, emotionaly), but don't ask yourself is this going to bring acceptance from this guy.
Also, resulting hex 44 is not a very positive one. I would be very careful with this guy.

Hi Manitoba33,

To my humble opinion (IMHO as the americans would say...) is the Yi giving you the question back at you... Reading line 2 I would say that the Yi asked you why you are worried and that you shouldn?t... Line 3 is saying that love is an ?ancient? thing, and goes with universal laws... Who do you serve? Him? Yourself or something higher? I asume the question was asked within a liddle way of anxiety... :-D? Then usualy the Yi tries to slow down that first, before giving any answer... Here he answered also... I would try to find the reason why you asked..., that?s what the Yi is saying..

Oh, and about 44... The man is very well alive in your head and within other bodyparts, isn?t he :-D?

Frank! For shame.

Alas, you are not incorrect by any stretch of the imagination.

This question was posed in the midst of great anxiety...(I may not have even been breathing at the time).

What is a more appropriate way to ask or phrasing of the question?

Hi Manitoba33,

I did not look at your other post bout hex. 4 earlier, but I guess in that other post the Yi is repeating wehat he sais here...Try to get what?s behind your question... 44 could definitly be about aggressive thoughts, and that could be jealousy, amongst other, some sort of ?obsessive? needs, perhaps bassed on insecurity and anxiety.

The best way to ask or phrasing a question is to breath first :-D...

Huggie,
Frank

PS: No intention what so ever to get your head red :-D...

I know, I was kidding. I thought it was a harmless joke.
