hex.40 in relationship questions

hex.40 as an answer at relationship questions (regarding confusing, uncertain situations ) makes me wonder if it is about the separation or about the release from tension but continuing together

i put this question (after an explanation /argue with my boyfriend ): "what will be the evolution of our relation from now on?" and the answer was 40 unchanging

another question about my love affair formulated today gave me the answer 54.9- 40 ("how would he like that i approach him and the relationship with him ? ")


do you think this readings are about breaking up?

Not sure if it's about breaking up but it does seem that the I Ching wants you to focus on #40 with respect to your relationship.

Perhaps it will help to know that the nuclear hexagram of #40 is #22 Grace.

I consider the nuclear hexagram as what's "inside" of the original hexagram, what is its essence, if you will.

40 is about freedom, liberation. One of my favorites. The essence of freedom, liberation is #22 grace.

Much ancient wisdom concerning relationships - which wisdom can be seen in virtually all the major spiritual traditions - suggests that without showing forth grace, there will not be much chance of success, in any relationship.

So, I don't know whether the I is counseling you to break up; to say one way or the other would be presumptuous of me, as I do not know you or your specific situation.

What I will say: If both of you do not show each other an amount of grace that stretches you, there will be little hope of a truly liberating, freeing partnership b/t the two of you.
