Today Sunday 28 May, the forum will be converted to new software. You will be able to read the old forum, but not able to post for a couple of hours.
Thank you,
Ewald

Well done again :)

Hi Matt - Not sure why you can't enter that forum.
Did you run into problems with logging in?

Hey Ewald, I logged in okay, updated my profile, changed my password, and I have no problems browsing the other forums when I am logged in.
But when i try to access the 'Divination Discussion' forum when I am logged in, it displays the following message:-
"matt, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:
Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation."
Although, I can access the Divination Discussion forum when I am not logged in. The problem only occurs when I try to access it when I am logged in.

Hi Matt - Could you try again whether you can see the Divination Discussion forum while logged in?

It all looks very smart and elegant here. A definite improvement.

If anyone's having trouble - especially with login - please email me with a blow-by-blow account of what goes wrong. I will pass everything on to Amember support, and hopefully they'll fix it soon.

Hey Hilary :) (matt here)
First, I just have to say this all looks excellent! Its very impressive, I did not realise that the old style could be carried over so well. With all of th new features available, its definitely a case of 42 Augmentation!
I noticed that those people who have made new accounts on the forum, have their name linked to their profile and other options in their posts. Click on the name, you get to see the profile, send private messages etc etc. But those who have carried over their accounts from the old forum do not have this link from their name - instead the name is displayed just as a text which you cannot click on. Also, for those who have carried over their old membership onto this new board, the forum doesnt recognise post counts or other information in the post.
Is this observation accurate? Since I made ths new account to test it, I have more options available - link from my name to profile, private messages, post count, etc.
If it is something that cnnot be solved, its a minor complication anyway, and I would suggest that members who have carried over their old memberships, register with a new profile. Of course this is all down to personal preference :) It would just seem to make sense if we were all to maximise the new boards capabilities.

Yes, I see what you mean. 'Betelgeuse' is clickable, 'matt' is not - it looks like the imported accounts have somehow not been given full access.
When you are logged in as 'matt', do you find you still have a user cpanel, just with fewer options?
I would suggest people not create new accounts just yet - give it a few more days to see if this can be fixed and the original accounts given proper access. (You definitely won't be able to create a new account in your original username.)The people at Amember keep asking for more and more login information, so I'm sure they're on to something.
Thanks for the help with testing!

Hi Hilary :)
When I log in on my old account as 'matt', I still have the full list of option available in the user control panel. The only difference is that another members profile is not accessible by any means at all, unless you 1/ search for their profile in the member list - in which case you can 'click' on their name, or... 2/ On the main forum home page, a members profile is 'clickable' - example, you see 'matt' is the last person to post in Divination Forum, you can click on his name from the main page, but you cannot when you enter the topic and check his post.
Hopefully should be solved soon :)

Hm, I think that in theory, it's guests (not-logged-in people) who see the non-clickable usernames. Which suggests that the system doesn't quite know that the old account is 'logged in'. It obviously does a bit, or it wouldn't let you post.
Ugh.
Like you say, hopefully should be solved soon!
