Does boy want to marry girl?
37.1>53
That's a very straightforward and positive answer, isn't it?
Now, how much trust and belief can one place on the I Ching oracle - instead of unwittingly being taken for a ride?

Wait and see.

Willowfox, if you don't mind, do you see if there is a timeline for the hexagram? As in, does the oracle pick up a near future sort of thing (i.e.: within a year)?
Or does it pick up current/potential thought?
very curious :)
thanks.

Hello Spica
You need to recognise that it's about whether you think it is a straightforward and positive answer. Here are some thoughts on your oracle.
37 - There needs to be a maturing on both sides for true harmony to be created.
37.1 - Sharing things will bring the relationship closer together
53 - The old love song about "On a slow boat to china" springs to mind here. ( Might be worth to Google the full lyrics)
How much trust and belief you put into this reading ( and equally the relationship) is all down to you.
do you see if there is a timeline for the hexagram?
This question was directed to WF, but here's a thought for you. This is a "How long is a piece of string?" type of question. One answer might be "It's as long as you want to cut it."
Be Well

The IC will give answers, not only for the present but for the future as well.
Now, the best way to figure out the time is to include it in your question, ie. "Will I travel to Europe in the next 2 years?", or "Will my business succeed and be prosperous by December of this year?" etc, you get the idea. Just include the day, month or year in your question when asking your question and then you can't go wrong as there will be no way to get the answer wrong.

Thanks Mike and Willowfox :)
Mike, thanks for the breakdown. Definitely the two parties need to be more mature first. This isn't the time; but she was curious because he talked about marriage quite alot this period, when he would otherwise not. Perhaps due to his friends being married off. The two are not mature enough for marriage yet though, so was surprised that the oracle gave such a direct answer. I must have been connected then, because I think I asked a few other questions later on, which showed 29 and 39 - danger and obstruction hexagrams :(
I did google "on a slow boat to china", and yes, he is a slow romantic. Sounds like something he would do - but am not sure how many years that will take. I agree it's all down to trust in the relationship and oracle. The cut of the string does depend a whole lot on the other party, lol.
Willowfox, yes, I must remember to add the date and time next time I enquire.
