View Full Version : 20.2,3,4,5,6-32: how did reiki session affect me?

Since I was present for the session, I suppose I ought to know. But reiki is such a mystery to me, that I wanted to ask.
Yes, I felt a kind of warmth radiating through parts of my body, and even though it was a distance session (the practitioner was not present), I thought I could feel a specific change when the session began.
I've only once received a reading with all lines changing, which was a shock. So this reading, with 5 lines changing was equally shocking --and rare. I don't feel like a different person, and yet quite a lot seemed to have gone on. My DNA seems to be intact still!
Anyone with reiki experience want to help me decode this one? It's probably very simple. :D

Well having had alot of pretty powerful sensations through reiki i was always advised there was no need to worry or think about how it affected me, and i think that advice was sound. I mean who would know ? The practitioner or the one sending it doesn't know, nor will you ever know. it isn't controlled by anyone its healing energy, you can't fence it in or pin it down to label.

Yes, well you're probably right, Trojan. I suppose I've slipped back into "what did I get for my money?" quantitative mindset.
This brings up a new question: why do I insist on peeling back the mystery? why do I always want to look behind the curtain?
Not in this instance only, but in my relationship with the Yi. I've been hard at learning, learning, learning these past two years --and have greatly broadened my ideas about faith, fate, et al, but I haven't yet seemed to shake the obsession to know the mechanics of my experiences.
I cannot simply be. :brickwall:
Whoa. Okay...This was not the intended direction of this post. I think I've found a more helpful point of development. Being.

This experience may have been an initiation for you. Even though the reiki practitioner was not present physically, there was a brief encounter involving contact with healing energy. H20 can mean a mood when a person first experiences a different type of spiritual energy.
Hope you continue to feel well.
A book on reiki or asking a reiki practitioner your questions directly would probably be more helpful to you than asking such questions of the I Ching at this point. Because if you received more hexagrams, that would just mean more decoding!

Because it's there?
I think 23 is the hexagram to explain that best. Fan Yao of 20.5 is 23.5 - a favorable omen.

My experience with Reiki is that it is so subtle and gentle that it can almost seem like The Emperors New Clothes, ie "what's all the fuss about? I didnt see or feel anything!"
Have you ever spent time cleaning your house, dusting and sweeping, minor straightening, maybe adding some incense? When you are done, nothing really looks altered, but somehow the energy of the house has been lifted, the very air feels lighter, there can almost seem to be a sparkle in the air, and often it lifts the spirits. I think this is like Reiki's effect on the person. shines you up, allows for a new influx of joy. This is just my experience. I have been told of physcal healings and a reiki master I know claims to see the energy, and also says he can actually see the dark spots in people who have areas in need of healings. I'd say anything is possible.
Pay attention to your dreams in the next few weeks.

You all are so wonderful! Thank you for giving me such good feedback to consider.
Yes, I will read up more on reiki, just to be more informed. And yes, perhaps I could let up on myself over my obsession with knowing how stuff works. (I still think I could benefit from releasing some of this restless energy within to more productive purposes, hopefully I've already passed through what seems to be the standard 'obsessive phase' of coin throwing.)
And most definitely, yes, I will note my dreams over the next few weeks.
I will say this: I have a bit more energy and am feeling much more focused and productive than I have in many, many weeks. No exuberance, but I have noted subtle positive changes in my outlook these past two days. Even yesterday, which was difficult, I didn't bottom out with a return to hopelessness.
Oh! And thank you for the note about hex 20. I understand now how this could imply a first exposure/first learning experience; hadn't thought about this hex that way at all before. Thanks!

!
20 as an initiation ? Yes I hadn't thought of that before either. I think that may be an overlooked aspect of 20, or an aspect rarely mentioned. To me that meaning does resonate quite strongly.

Yes, thank you, I thought I'd mention that aspect of H20 that signifies an initiation, since it seemed to apply to this post.
According to Karcher, the word GUAN, Viewing, also is the word used to translate 'yoga.' I'm sure it must also be the word to translate 'reiki,' because it involves "perception of the invisible influences that spread from the spirit," according to Karcher. :bows:;):bows:

meng -- I actually posted an experience with 23.5 in the wiki wing! good fortune, yes.
When I went back and re-read the image and commentary, I immediately thought of my spine --each vertebra as a fish strung together on a line -- and the warmth I felt moving up my spine during the session.
