One of my favorite past times is to feed and watch the local birds and two families of Harris' Antelope Squirrels that live in the backyard and just beyond. Today I brought home a large bag of seed and a seed-bell, then scattered their treat over the dusty yard. As I watched them, smiling from my kitchen window, my mind drifted into an obscure thought: What if the bodhisattvas watch us the same way when heaven opens up its bounty onto us?
