Hi all-
Here's a topic most of you can simply delete. I just needed a place to practice inserting emoticons and graphics without embarrassing myself in a real conversation. I'm no whiz on computers yet.
It's a complete idiots for dummies thread.
Other beginner screwups welcome here too.

so Candid-
do you know how to shrink image size? I did these with Photoshop, just using image size, resolution, crop & grayscaale mode commands.

Let's see if it works Candid,

You mean centered like this?

http://www.onlineclarity.co.uk/I_Ching_community/messages/786/1670.gif

Then the code is like this (just eliminate the spaces in between the characters) \ c { \ image {some text here} }

You have captured my essence perfectly, perhaps I was wrong about your papparazzi instincts. Seeing myself in this light is like, well...an 'endarkening' experience. http://www.onlineclarity.co.uk/I_Ching_community/clipart/happy.gif

Wow!

Here's something I learned the hard way...

My firewall stops me posting graphics to Clarity...

So after browsing and choosing the graphic I want I turn the firewall off and post...

Duh... How do you guys' get round that?

Kev,

No its Stevie Ray Vaughn. I taught him everthing he knew. (right!) That guy rocked! Died in a small plane crash traveling from gig to gig. Shame, such talent and heart.

I'm behind a Trend Micro firewall but it doesn't seem to affect posting graphics here.

Like a train that stops at every station,
We all deal with trials and tribulations.
Fear hangs the fellow that ties up his years.
Entangled in yellow and cries all his tears.
Changes come before we can grow.
Learn to see them before we're too old.
Don't just take me for tryin' to be heavy.
Understand, it's time to get ready for the storm.

Tash, if you right click on your image and go down to properties it will show what type of file it is. I tried uploading a gif once and it didn't work for me. If you want to send it to me, I'll be sure its converted to jpeg and then will email it back to you. It should work fine as a jpeg.

Beth, I took him with me when I moved into this house, but being born and raised in the wild I just couldn't manage to keep him penned in. So I had to bring him back to the ranch from whence he came. But when I visit my friends there he's by my side until I leave. Those photos were taken on the way to my vehicle to leave. He's the runt of 5 dogs on the property, and was extremely timid until I took him in and loved on him for a year. Now he?s the friendliest and funniest of the pack.

Another favorite canine there is called Shadow; he's a man incarnated into a dog's dog's body, I'm convinced. When my camera comes out he steps away and poses.

Then there?s Chase, the official Queen of the ranch. Look into her eyes and tell her she won?t have her way. She rules and its not negotiable!

Yes, I do believe Shadow and Queen have you well trained - but then again, don't all of our furry friends? http://www.onlineclarity.co.uk/I_Ching_community/clipart/happy.gif I'm muddling through creating a small personal website - just about my garden, quitling, my kitchen, that sort of stuff. Sure wish I could send Hilary all of my extra bandwidth!

Kevin -

Thank you for the kitties - they are adorable.

Peace,

Beth

Aargh. Candid, I wouldn't have had the slightest difficulty deleting it until you started with photos of dogs. Do you seriously expect me to manage it now?

Could probably do with that extra bandwidth... nearly ran out last month... (Bandwidth, by the way, is eaten every time anyone views an image on the server, so I wouldn't get any back by deleting the page. Just as well, really...)

Hilary, how would like to see uploaded images handled frequency wise? Do we overkill, should we be more conservative uploading them here? I know I've been pretty silly with them cuz they're a new toy for me. Too much?

BTW, this Open Space turned out to be a great idea.
