I know another geophysicist in Hawaii through the internet. He works for the USGS there, and he used to frequent a 3D interactive program I created in.
I like the USGS Hawaii site. I got inspiration for a series of oil paintings from photos of Kilauea lava flows there... impasto... strong bright colors. Lava flows would have to be impasto though wouldn't they?
I hope you have a sense of humor. Well I guess you would have to to stand out in the cold at the South Pole in a short sleeve shirt to have your picture taken.
