Help with a friend 13.4

hi all,
I am new here and to I Ching as well so i am still learning about casting and asking questions properly as well as interpreting my answers.

Recently I had an issue with a person who I had thought of as a friend. It boils down to a series of otherwise silly misunderstandings.

I asked Yi "How can i resolve this issue with X?" and received hex 13.4>37 as my answer.

I interpret this as just being in the background and letting the row die down on it's own.

This friend and I had gone on a date a few months ago and it didn't work out. Our friendship was a pretty new one but we had connected (at least i had thought so) and I wanted to continue this friendship.
Unfortunately things have not been the same since.

If anyone can help me with this I would be really appreciative :)

Yes there's certainly an issue about trust bugging your friend and selfishness as well, you upset the apple cart pretty good but all is not lost, so if you are pleasant to one another that's a step in the right direction.
So, you will need to persevere and use your gentle powers of persuasion and be sincere in all that you say, truth will win in the end.

Thank you so much, Willow Fox! You hit the nail right on the head.

He seems to think I am in love with him or "after him" but I am only interested in friendship with him.
I tried to tell him this before and it fell on deaf ears. He kept taking a very strange snippy attitude toward me. Finally, I lost it and told him in no uncertain terms was I after him, that I was in love with someone else.

He blew a fuse and accused me of humiliating him (our row was in public) and being so in love with him that I had to resort to petty tactics in order to "make him look and feel bad".

So strange because I thought it would clear the air but it made things worse somehow.

I asked Yi "How does X feel about me?" and received hex 25 unchanging.

Maybe he will settle down soon and things will improve.

You know that he likes you and wants to be more than just a friend, you are just going to have to nip his twinkie in the bud but as I said before, if you can stop fighting that a positive step.
