Is there a specific duration that is generally recognized for a hexagram to be describing?
When does the new Hexagram, the one that the original changed to, come in to play?
Years? Months?

Lots of opinions on this.

I perceive the initial hexagram & changing line(s) as indicative of where you are right now; the resulting hex as what is underway in the relative near term -- that day or the next day or two, sometimes in the next hour, sometimes it's already upon you.

That second hexagram is not "fate" -- it is a consequence of what actions you have done/continue to do/will do if you stay on your present course. Consequently, you have some power to change that trajectory of future events, though you do not have the power to change history.

That being said... sometimes that second hex never seems to arrive, or comes and goes in a form that is not recognizable until it is long passed. And sometimes it just doesn't make any sense, or answers a question you have not yet consciously formulated.

The way i read this you aren't asking for how to time events you are asking if hexagrams have fixed time frames, ie does hex 62 last a week or a month etc

No there are no fixed time frames it all depends on the question. If you ask a short term question about tomorrow the answer is only till tomorrow (though you can always get much more info than you ask for) If you ask a longer term question you get a longer term answer

each readings can be converted in a time frame if not in a precise day... there are some ways to calculate it. but mostly people use it with the intention to know only the time.

while if you ask about your readings in how many times will happens something described in the lines... well that is dependent from you... on your perceptions of the situations, before to toss the coins.. and on many other variable. all this can be translated in a fealing once you get the answer hexagrams.
in a feal like never, it's comming, to late, need alot of time....
