I was a bit disheartened with the result, line 6 of hexagram 3;

Six a the top means:
Horse and wagon part.
Bloody tears flow.

The difficulties at the beginning are too great for some persons. They get stuck and never find their way out; they fold their hands and give up the struggle. Such resignation is the saddest of all things. Therefore Confucius says of this line: “Bloody tears flow: one should not persist in this.”

is it saying i'm a complete novice at this and resign myself from any of this socialising?

The time of INCREASE does not endure, therefore it must be utilized while it lasts

Yes, horse and wagon part. Separate inner tears from outer circumstances and enjoy yourself.

So 3.6 isn t always a synonym for disaster

Not disaster, just a courtship that doesn't succeed. Maybe yxeli got dressed up and had a good night out, but didn't find a spouse that night. (if a question was specifically about a courtship, or wooing attempt, well then it would feel like disaster to one who got their hopes up.)

Well since I just got it for “changing the locks in my house so as to let out a housemate “ I am a bit worried I won r succeed and he will be again let in by a judge.

But since I have no other option at hand right now, I will proceed anyway.

How long were they a roomate?

I really wonder if he dares to bring me to court after all this but he s been clever, making sure there is no record about things said that would put him into trouble!

Certainly this has been a blood tears experience. I just hope I won t be forced to have him back into the house and to pay him compensation while he would be allowed to live in my house for free because he is officially a guest, cooking and not paying even for gas
