Looking for different perspectives on how to view this.
I asked the Yi what small things can I do daily that will alter my life for the
better in the long run?

The answer it gave me was Hex 29.2.6 changing to Hex 20

Hex 29 or K'an means "plunging in" and it also means the heart.
The judgement is "The abysmal repeated. If you are sincere,
you have success in your heart. And whatever you do succeeds."

Line 2 sounds like don't get out of what's uncomfortable quickly, stay there.

Line 6 Alfred Huang seems to point out it is a deep rooted negative way of thinking
I need to get out of the way.

Then it changes to Hex 20 (Guan)
which Huang calls "Watching" and alludes to watching the breath or meditation.

Basically, what I interpret from this reading is get out of your comfort zone
also meditate everyday. I would love to hear other's take on this to consider this
from multiple perspectives that I may not have considered.

And clarification on 29.6 would also be helpful.

From observing the hexagrams it seems to me that you are presently attempting to take in help due to confusion or a sense of sadness, and what the I Ching is suggesting, imo, is to begin to take in truth rather than help, contemplate rather than be cheered up, observe rather than receive. Through doing this, the ones you have been receiving help from will move on and you can contemplate their actions and the situation around you from a point of reality/self merging. There is struggle in this, and even arguments, it's not entirely easy, but pure contemplation has the upper hand.

The Abysmal becomes Contemplation
Make small changes to not exist in a state of being overwhelmed by deeply contemplating the truth in all that surrounds you.

And you asked about 29.6:

Six at the top means:
Bound with cords and ropes,
Shut in between thorn-hedged prison walls:
For three years one does not find the way.
Misfortune.

You may feel irredeemably trapped due to your circumstances, but it is merely a matter of letting go. When this top line changes, the top trigram changes to The Gentle, or wind. By working to be light and detached as air you can free yourself from the cages of The Abysmal.

I don't know your circumstances, I'm just reading straight from what I believe the I Ching to be saying. Hope it helped.
