On Aug 26 noon, a reading was conducted to check whether RY is a worthwhile stock investment. The reading is 56.1.2 to 14.
Hex 14 means prices at a peak. Beware, for prices may begin to drop.
Hex 56 means unstable prices, will rise later
56.1.2. means buyer and seller line are the change lines. Price will move up
Within hex 14, the upper trigram is the li fire and the lower trigram is chen metal. Fire suppresses metal. This is a condition for gain. Therefore, a buy at 80.41 is recommended (previous day price is 81.20). The day closed at 80.67. Price rises.

Hexagram 50 means stable and favourable。
Hexagram 33 means falling price.

50.2.5 set both officer line and customer line in motion. This means that there is a price gain when the timing is right, then the price will drop.

The price peaks at 80.96. Thus, we recommend selling at 80.94.

By Aug 28 noon, the price return to 80.30 by 14:30 hr. If one does not sell earlier, there will be a loss.

Conclusion,
The investment brings a 60 cents return per share within 24 hrs. Loss is avoided. Iching reading is only useful in predicting short term future when trading event is actually in motion.

I trade + invest in equities and options.

Looked into using the iching for trading/investing in the past, but I always had a mental block.
If you and I both asked the iching at the same time on trading RY, we'd probably get different advice/results, no? Now imagine 100 people all asking about RY at the same moment... Just not sure how the iching can help predict the prices in that regard.

Anyway! What's the best way to learn about trading + iching? Still super interested. Just not sure how to apply and make the mental leap.

There are no books or publications on record. There are a large number of learners. 99% of them failed with the correct analysis of the situation.

You do not need the same hexagram to obtain the same conclusion. A general in-depth knowledge of the stock and market condition is required for a good analysis.

Background: This is the largest bank in Canada. The trading volume is high. The price fluctuation is limited. It is a profitable company. It is part of the index. Forecast dictates that index has peaked and will drop 10% from its high in about 2-4 months. There is also certain level of price fixing, as per news release.

Iching as a time machine to predict the future:
Brother line - seller
Child line - buyer
Parent line - news
Officer line - organization/government
Wealth line - money movement.
Each line is associated with a stem/branch of the 5 elements and has a relationship to the date of the reading.
Change hexagram provide the price trend for short term future. Line changes provide the information for immediate time.

In this case, Aug 28 noon hexagram 33 is to retreat. Time to sell and keep the funds.
Aug 27 hexagram 14 is a future gain immediately.

Timing is calculated by the hour. Gain & loss is by the minute in the stock market. I have a parallel analysis on CNQ concerning taking profit before it drops (see my other post).
