I wouldn't have opened a new thread here if I weren't so frantic but I need advice and didn't want my Q to get lost in the posting of the Left Breast shuffle. So in light of that here goes:
Besides the worry of the breast condition,(even though it sounds like a positive surgery), I am at a crossroads as whether to take a life changing prescription drug,my health specialist threw this out to me (for my decision)because most of the meds we've tried for my other condition cause severe stomache distress. So I asked "What should I do concerning this drug E, would it be beneficial?"
and recieved 3 different times the hex about "Darkening of the Light" no changing lines.
I then went to another site and asked the same Q and recieved a pretty positive reply. I got really confused. When I looked at all the posting on Darkening of light, they seemed to say that this means ill health or hurting in some way so I understood it to mean that the drug E would have negative affecting on my body. Since this is so important to me would anybody please throw to clarify somewhat? Thanks Candida

In general I sense a:

(1) focus on facts (doing over believing)
(2) focus on what could be
(3) focus on being proactive (not just 'taking it')

given the above the issue seems to be one of ideology (fire) - with guidance comes a sense of direction.

There are eight hexagrams in this context, forming four pairs:

36, 22, 63, 37, 55, 30, 49, 13

In general:

The 36,22 pair deals with covering something up - either unconditionally (36) or conditionally (22).

22 uses the outside of the boundary as a form of distraction away from looking inside. The 'light' as such is on the surface, it attracts. This can also represents glossing over the 'truth' etc

36 uses the inside to hide the light in that it is not the 'right' time to express that light - you need likeminded people around you to do that (expressed in 13). The indication here is you are in the wrong context to express yourself openly.

63, 37 pair cover issues of structuring etc - getting it 'right' in 63 - and so an unconditional focus, vs the conditional of 37 by imposing rigid structure to release tension. The completion and the rigid structure represent a boundary of some form - as in a family, support group etc

The 55, 30 pair cover issues of direction etc, expanding a boundary in 55 where things are overflowing within the boundary, lots of diversity etc, 30 is more conditional in that it expands the boundary but also gives it sense of direction.

The 49, 13 pair covers likmindedness activities - unconditional revelations (49 - likeminded vs not likeminded) or conditional activity in the form of associating with the likemindedness (13).

The revelation nature of 49 covers pulling back the skin to see beneath it (it maps as an 'opposite' to 22 in this eight hexagram context, or more so an exaggeration of facading vs ripping the facade off to 'intensely' reflect what is behind it. We find here pairings of 'opposites', or balanced vs exaggerated, in the form of:

36 - 13
22 - 49
63 - 30
37 - 55

The fire focus, to me, asks the question, is there a support group in your area? there is the indication of not just seeing the doctor but by sharing the experience with others with the same condition and so a source of immediate empathy.
--- that focus on a shared ideology etc (with guidance comes direction).

Chris you said "22 uses the outside of the boundary as a form of distraction away from looking inside. The "light" as such is, on the surface, it attracts. This can also represent glossing over the truth, etc.
This particular med that I am agonizing over is one that you take by injection by yourself weekly. My husband always said that this E medicine just glosses over the surface of the disease(sort of placebo effect) and doesnot really alter the disease. He thinks(he is not a physician but highly intuitive just the same)that use of E blocks the pain neurons but that is all. So, maybe this refers to the statement you made about 22 and glossing over? However, research shows that it actually stops joints from destruction and functionally changes the immune system, so his assumptiom seems to negate that idea.
Also you said, "There is the indication of not just seeing the doctor but by sharing the experience with others with the same condition and so a source of immediate empathy" in other words the focus on a shared ideology. If this is what the hex is telling me then it probably won't be hard to find such a group as I'm sure there are many others here within the radius of our 2 major towns. The main reason I am concerned with taking E is that the chances of getting lymphoma(cancer, as you might already know)are quite a bit higher than someone not taking it; and then when you throw in the fact that I have a benign tumor in the left lymph gland it gets kind of frightening as to know whether to take E. They are not going to remove it even though it is benign.
Chris, thank you for taking time and effort to reply, as I extremely appreciate it. Even though I can't understand much of what you wrote (how I wish the brains were handed out that day in 194?)lol...I'm assuming from your reply that it might not be such a bad hex after all? Just that I might need guidance and somewhere to vent, heh?
