There may be some jealousy here, but I think the real message of the hexagram is the danger of not discussing what happened with him. If he is getting the information from a female friend, who knows how the message was relayed and how the story was told. If you don't tell him about it, your boyfriend may think you are purposefully keeping it hidden to be deceptive. I think that is what the "danger" is that is forewarned of in this hexagram.
