First of all, I too have had the experience - in the world of academic philosophy - of males being stand offish due to gender issues. It is vile, and I would hope this would no longer be the case, but all too often is.Hi everyone!
I'm a writer. I have one client that I worked for before and recently I sent them something I thought would be interesting for them but they never responded. I sense *something* is up but what?
I asked: why aren't they responding and got 44.4>57
This is interesting. The client's business is all male and I feel that maybe they find my female perspective somewhat intimidating? Also I keep feeling that maybe they are missing out and this line seems to agree with that idea.
Then I asked: how was my piece received by them. 29.3.6>57
57 again. What could this mean? I've always had trouble understanding this hex. It seems it is telling me something important because I got it twice, but I can't really grasp it.
I find the hexes and the lines I got quite mysterious and hard to understand.
If anyone can help me shed some light on this, that would be awesome!
44. Providing
Providing.
The woman is strong.
No use to marry the woman.
For the provision of something one is dependent on someone in a strong position. One cannot win this person over to one's own side.
Line 4:
There is no fish in the surroundings.
Emerging misfortune.
Something is not available. As time passes, the problems this raises will get worse.
changing to: 57. Penetration
Penetration.
Somewhat progressing.
It is beneficial to have a goal to move to.
It is beneficial to see a senior person.
Penetrating into a situation. Progress goes slowly. It's good to have a plan. It is good to get some help or advice.
Emotional I ching views 44 as "the crossing of a border or boundary". Line 4 he sees as "valueless convictions" which in this case would indicate the males, I should think, unless you would like to examine your own.
I agree. I think maybe they are undecided. They (or whomever was responsible for the acceptance or rejection) may have put it aside, not wanting to reject it, but not ready to accept it, perhaps. Can you send them an email, just asking if they got the piece and requesting a bit of feedback?Well...I have to be honest here. The piece I wrote is about my own convictions. This made me think: maybe the client thinks they are valueless? To 'womanly'? It still puzzles me why they didn't just tell me 'no'. That's what I find so strange.
Great, let us know the outcome! Two minds think alike? That is exactly what I just did!
Thank you Dragona, I will definately post the result here.
It is indeed weird. No update, it is getting really weird now! No contact, no email, no nothing. I really don't understand. If they think my piece is rubbish they could have said so. If they think it needs work etc. But keeping quiet like this is just plain weird.
I asked: why is there no response to my last email. 2.2
Hmm. Square, straight...sounds like the company itself. Very male, very dry, quite infuential. What else to make of this reading?
Any insight is very much appreciated (not just because I would like an answer to my question but more importantly I learn so much about the I Ching!).
Maybe she should take the advice of your signature: I like that line!:bows:Pocossin once gave me his take on that line, considering somebodys intentions, I think...and now I still can`t get it :-( but the previous readings spoke to me about shifting it back and forth, so maybe it is still in works. Nothing to do but wait. Sorry I can`t be of much use.
It is indeed weird.
So am I right, that you emailed them an update, saying you were still interested in their feedback? And MORE silence followed??
Also, let me ask you, was what you wrote about something that you stand by strongly, or do you yourself have doubts? The reason I ask you is, I have experienced things in the past (yeah, some odd silences , too) and sometimes it has oddly been my OWN doubts which seem to have created some bad "gestalt" around the event. If this is not the case with you, then I do not know.
Then you should stand by the piece, keep submitting it to other places. Could they be backlogged, simply slow in getting back to you? I have had the experience of believing I am being ignored, and then getting communication, quite late.....Yes, I emailed them, asked for feedback and then...nothing.
It is a piece about something I very strongly believe in, something that is really important to me and I am absolutely 100% convinced about. Could it mean that they think I'm biased? Not objective enough. I don't know, I'm just guessing now! I wonder if I created this myself. It is important to me, maybe that urgency makes it an obstacle?
Dragona you helped me by telling me you yourself have troubles grasping that line. Sometimes it feels really nice to know I'm not the only one!

Ha, that is wonderful news, and those first simply lost out. I suspect they were simply doing the impolite thing which etiquette used to prevent but in our present era has become the norm: If the answer is 'no', they simply do not trouble themselves with any communication . Rude and infuriating.Well I never heard back from the company but a much bigger fish came along and published my piece resulting in a lot of attention and good comments.
Still not sure what happened with company nr. 1.
I know, and I thought because my email carries my New York City media company info, he would at least give a polite "no"---oy vey. I just read it, and thanks!!!I know, how rude huh? First rule: be polite. Second rule: be polite. It's all part of the networking code: you may need eachother at some point and it's just good common sense and the cultured thing to do. Oh well.
I'm heading over to the other thread and read about your quest!
