64. Not yet Across
Line 2:
Dragging his wheels.
Persistence brings good fortune.
It is not easy to go forth, one needs to drag to get through. By persisting things will go well.
(The wheels that are dragged are from a cart that is pulled across a river.)
Line 4:
Persistence brings good fortune,
aversion goes away.
Shock was used to attack the Ghost region.
The third year one was rewarded with a great country.
A firm and persistent approach improves the situation and makes things go well. One's initial aversion to the situation will go away. Working on this may take quite some time, but it leads to a long time advantage.
Hexagram is changing to:
23. Removal
Removal.
It is a disadvantage to have a goal to move to.
Removing something. Before this is done it is not practical to make plans.
p.s.I like Tuck Chang`s book also, he has a very clear way of explaining, IMO.Yes. 64 is "Before Completion" or "Not Yet Across". Some last step needs to be taken.
I have always had mixed feelings about line 4 and the "Demon territory". To me, this implies a struggle with some conflict - inner or outer. good point, as in fighting the demons out
Line 2: "He brakes his wheels" or "he drags his wheels". This may sometimes be viewed as deliberate breaking as one questioning, or simply the difficulty of the struggle;that gives me that get out of the mud feeling
If one happens to enjoy using Berkers as much as I do, this may be illuminating::bows:
Everything is bad enough as it is with no chance of getting much better anytime soon, so honestly, no idea.
