The significance of Hexagram 16

I have been consistently receiving Hex 16, both unchanging and as the second hexagram in regards to just about anything I've ever asked about my relationship with someone. This has remained consistent for two months. What is the significance about Hex 16 in a relationship? I know it means enthusiasm, but I might be missing the point.

For me 16 seems to revolve around music. For some it says lots of emotion, like getting overly excited or worked up. To the point of illusions, not seeing the simple, balanced reality.

Its an unpredictable hexagram to me. Full of potential. I associate it with "life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, but learning to dance in the rain". At times its a good turn out, at others not so good. Kind of what you make of that potential. Do you have some background or a particular question you would like to share?

Thank you blue_angel. I think that is a good angle to the question. As a background, we were good friends but I sensed something is there. I received 16 unchanging for "what is the future potential between x and I?" 16 unchanging for "How does x feel about me?" (I know there are issues asking the IC how someone else feels.) Hex 16 for "What will happen if I try pressing forward with x?" and most recently, "what would happen if I make a point of seeing x this week?" The result was, 32: 2,3 to 16. She's angry with me right now, so I think that is a really accurate reading.

It's just 16 is so ambiguous. It could mean enthusiasm in a near-future context, or that I am deluded about moving forward with her. I think 32:2.3 just means cool your jets, but that recurring 16 is just too full of wonder.

Everything is good between you. If you meet with her regrets will vanish. Just learn to be more consistent in your character. Figure out what you want. It may not even mean that last part. It could mean you're uncertain about her reaction and your mind is going "should I" "shouldn't I". You know? Relax, dance to the music. Flow naturally. Lol don't "sense" just ask. You don't want to build fairy-tale castles in the clouds then realize they don't exist and watch them float away. Trust me. I've done this :D "are you interested in me?" Simple. Especially with 16 all over the place. "Face the music" lol. First you have to find out what tune is being played, before you can dance to it.

Thank you for this, blue_angel. Somewhat freeing, as I have felt trapped in indecision. I figured the IC was trying to get my attention with all those 16s. I have been using the IC consistently for two years, but I've seen a recurring hex like this before.

Seconding Blue Angel's comments. Even the etymology of the character 豫 implies the rhythmic swaying of an elephant to music. 16 is getting with the rhythm of things. It's glossed as Shun Dong, responsive movement, in the commentary on the Judgement, moving with the time or timing of things, 'getting with it.''

Many videos out there of elephants dancing:

Thanks, bradford. I saw her tonight because I received... yet again 31.3.5 to (you guessed it) 16 on whether to make the effort. There is a strain there because of something I need to clear up, but there is genuine affection. The 31.5 concerns me a little, but I'll just keep moving along and try to understand the "rhythm of things.;)

A quick update: we've interacted a bit and so I asked the ic what the current state of relationship is and got... Uncanny, yet again... Hex 44.2.3.5.6 to 16

Hex 44 is rarely good, but there's that dang 16 again.

Thank you, bradford. That affirms my most recent result in which I sheepishly asked " what am I missing in all these Hex 16s?" thinking of your previous answer about getting with it. I got hex 26, which is exactly in line to restraint. This is an interesting journey, indeed. :)
