So, today I "what is the Yi's advice to me about planning a trip to S.A.?" (this would be to visit my grandparents and some extended family. I have felt hesitant/conflicted around this decision both for health related reasons--though I do not think it is a risk to my health--I just feel so darn uncomfortable--and then there is some resistance to going because of sadness and reminders that could be there...)
And received 58.3.5 to 34
In Karcher's translation both changing lines seem to be saying this in not such a good idea--but 58 seems like it counsels to join together and be open and communicative etc....But then 34 makes me wonder if the Yi is saying,"You have more important things to concentrate on right now." ???
I then asked what about planning a trip to C in the next month?" This is a trip "home" that I am considering in part because we are in transition, waiting to move into a new place and staying with friends until it is ready. Stressful times made more stressful by not having a place of our own...Anyway, I received 27.4 to 21
I have been receiving 27 a lot lately and have a sense that I have not quite gotten to the "meat" of what is trying to be communicated to me through it...
Any input?

This says not to go, to think carefully about this as the time is most certainly not the right time.

First it says that you will need some help, and that you will have to put some effort into being able to make a trip back home but you can do it.

58 - OPEN is an advantageous divination ....communication, pleasure, joy, interaction. Hidden Possibility 37 Dwelling People. SEQUENCE You enter something and stimulate it.

I see this as a go sign but be wary. Its going to be good to see your family and by going it will allow you to shake up a few things.
It's not going to be the trip that you imagine it to be and some of the time may well be a bit rough for you but if you go it's going to allow you to face a few old issues and make a new start. ( lines 3 and 5). It's going to be quite a tough thing to do and will require a lot of strength and fortitude (34) , but it will be worth while for you to try to make teh journey if you can.

You have to look for the real source of what you need. You are disconnected from what you are really after at the moment. This journey is not what you want to chase after. It's tough at teh moment but be determined, get downto the real crux of the matter. Discover what you are really really yearning for. When you have made the break through then you will realise it was all worthwhile.

Willowfox's speaks to my disinclination to go to S.A....And perhaps to a pull I feel toward C., a trip that I believe might feel comforting but that I also know really might not be what is needed right now...
Mike, your take on 58 resonates with me...It seems the Yi is not saying what I should or should not do but rather is offering insight into what it might be like and perhaps reasons to consider it. (Do you think the Yi ever tells you what to do? Or not so much?)
Re. 27, yes, that is pretty much how I understand it...

Hi Maya

When things "resonate" I always take that as a sign of affirmation. It feels like it should. Thanks for allowing me to tune into your wavelength.

On the questions you raised here - To my way of thinking, the Yi offers you advice and insights on possibilities and allows you insights into what might happen if you did, what might not happen if you did, what might not happen if you didn't and what might happen if you didn't follow the advice. Which path you take is open for you to decide. Free will allows you to create the reality that you feel is most appropriate for you at that time.

Sometimes the advice in one reading or series of readings (27 coming up lots for you at the moment) becomes so compelling that it amounts to an insistant message, more urgent, more forceful and becomes harder and harder to ignore. Maybe this is closer to telling you what to do, but it's down to you to interpret and choose to listen or not.

We can easily read how the "superior man" would behave in any circumstance but his shoes are not always easy to fill. Sometimes we don't even think we can fit into them at all - our feet are so big and his shoes are so small. Rather than telling us, I think over time by using the the Yi it hands us bigger and better shoe-horns and different shoes (lower heels, not so pinching at the toes and a bit more support round the ankles) and feet sizes. Eventually everything comes together and we get a comfortable fit.
