I've been asked to join a business by a woman I've worked with in the past. I would be work somewhat independently and I do like this woman. But I don't have a clear idea of how I could contribute to the venture and have been hanging back, waiting to see what direction this takes.

The idea is that I'd have a private office from which to work, unlike my home office now which gets loads of childus interruptus. And I am temporarily living with my ex until I can get on my feet. I would work off part of my rent with front desk work.

I dunno. Have been feeling wifflely about this. I'm working three project right now and don't want to over-extend myself. And yet I do want more contact with other people. I just don't see this as a long-term set-up.

What do I need to know about partnering with X? 1.2,6>49

Just to continue...

line 2 does speak to my need to connect with a wider circle of people, but my concern is line 6, which in most commentaries suggests arrogance or over-reaching one capabilities.

Is the Yi warning me my doubts are actually hubris?

Or is this a case of my friends ambitions exceeding her abilities?

So I asked, what can I expect if I join X's company? 48.1,3,4>58

58 is an image of people doing business.

48.1 this is a neglected and worn out resource
48.3 Karcher says, "This Well is turbid. They do not drink here. This makes my heart ache."
48.4 "This well is being lines with tiles."

I'm getting a picture of this relationship/business requiring a lot of work. But what grabbed my attention is 48.1, a worn-out resource. I've had a gut feeling that while I've enjoyed knowing this woman and we've been able to help one another, this is not going to be a long-term relationship.

Oh, brilliant, TITB! So clever of you to have remembered that post. WOW. Yes, this certainly fits with my gut feeling on this one.

Yes, she's a wonderful woman and I want to support her new venture, but as much as I'm looking for connections outside my house, I feel my energies should be used elsewhere.

If anyone has a dissenting opinion, please chime up.
