Kevin, if I put it into sensible words it would make no real sense. So I'll be senseless and maybe you'll understand what I mean.

I see the dragon much as John saw Jesus.

In the beginning was the Word. The first cause and effect between heaven and earth. That which was born is called the Word. It is the same with Yi. Heaven and earth unite and there is 3: Thunder under water, the beginning of primal life. The dragon is as the son of heaven and earth. Heaven in us.

There must have been one hell of a Universal orgasm when this happened...the first time the Word appeared. And what was born is fearsome yet today.

Okay then... if all that wasn't freaky enough for you. This is why I asked the question.

My 37.1 to 53 dream sequence continued. It was another two-nighter. There's no one-night stands with me... oh no... the men in grey always come back for more.

In this one, which I have been savoring for about three days now, I was looking at a hexagram. I could make out a changing line and about 2 yin, then 1 yang above it. That part was nebulous... no doubt intentionally.

They said, "This man is going to show you the meaning of [insert either line 2 or 3 here... it started as 2 and changed to 3] of hexagram [unintelligible]. It is important that you just be quiet and listen... really listen... and learn it."

So... tonight, after savoring it for so long, I went to the Yi and I said, "I'm ready to learn this... really ready... (see Deb's interpretation of 2.5 above to capture my feeling) and they said... 1.5.

I think this is something you have to go with, let the creative force do its thing and let it grow within you. That's the only way you can learn it. And accept what is born from that with an open and loving heart, with its perfection and imperfection (perception).

Just let it bloom and grow and open your heart. Then you will see it and know it(learn).

How beautifully these first two fit... They are wondrous together and so 'nothing' appart.

The YYY was a wordplay on your XXX - Chromosomes! (grin)

The 'Old Hag' is one of the very deepest archetypes in the Female Psyche. She is the Evil powerful witch or hag in fairy tales. Very powerful and wise... the great Female Shaman Goddess... the crooked crone... Fear her!

I cannot describe her and I will tell you why and maybe you will say why I say Fear Her!

I may be wrong but I suspect men cannot access do not possess) this archetype.

But I can describe the male counterpart.

This is the 'half man' - Seen in dreams he is literally half a man top to bottom... (I only see the left side) - The other side is in some other place... He is between two space/times or worlds.

I have seen him twice in dreams (for dreams are the places we can go and meet our archetypes)... I have seen his works in dreams more often... He is the dragon... but he is cruel, so cruel and very dark... In one dream I was walking along a beautiful wooded river bank... I looked across the river and he stepped out from behind a tree and leared... he was 'terrible' and he was watching me and then was gone.

I was using certain techniques to plumb very deep into my dream psyche at the time... exploring. I immediately stopped the experiment after seeing him... I could not believe that something like that was in me.

After a long time playing in the shallows, so to speak I resumed... This time I crossed the river into his land... thought I would take a sneaky look... I could not believe what I found... Open rolling meadows... such peace and beauty... then I saw a big old stone barn... knew it was his and knew he wasn't around... What I saw in that barn is unspeakable... my response to it was of utter dismay and horror.

He is a part of all men... Just as the Hag is for women.

So though I fear him and dread him it was essential to meet him and see that part, that potential... Now I will always know if some of that energy is creeping up from deep in my psyche, into my thought or action.

BTW - A Jungian Therapist who set me off on this exploration told me that I could read about him as much as I wanted, but that I would not understand till I had met him.

Can you tell me about the Hag?

Real Men don't read maps! Sounds like it would be a great title for a new book ha ha. Amd real women will remind them for eternity about the exit they missed when the next one is fifty miles away because they didn't read the map.

Well, I suppose the I Ching is kind of like a road map for our soul. I missed the boat when they handed out masculinity. Because I do read the I Ching. Men are supposed to be too scientific to believe in this kind of stuff too. Although real women should check their horoscope daily.

Hexagram 1.5. I have mentioned before I see the first hexagram as a prototype for all the following yang lines and hexagram 2 as a prototype for all following yin lines in the following hexagram. For example line 1 of hexagram 1 says "hidden dragon" it hasn't appeared in its field of activity yet, and as a rule in all the hexagrams that follow a changing yang line in line one indicates prematurity. Line 1.5 is the indication that the flying dragon is in the heavens. Here the ruler proclaims his commands. (One must see the great man.) And as a general rule a yang line five in the following hexagrams indicates a ruler who must be dealt with.
