Can't help but feel I'm being annoying (to the Yi? To the forums?) here but I've been back to obsessively casting about a dilemma - this time a job, and need interpretation help. I can't delay this decision much longer.

My friend posted an opening for a pastry assistant position and can get me an interview (if I send a resume) On paper it seems perfect - I've been waiting for a job, very in need of money and looking to switch careers.
but I'm already facing so many obstacles, exhaustion at home, disability and fatigue..and my work experience is not very fitting for the position. I feel conflicted on even going through the work of applying if I will end up quitting immediately due to obstacles. But wonder, am I letting insecurity get the best of me here?

So I have been prying the Yi incessantly! So many confusing readings. It could go either way. The job will cause conflict, it could be beneficial to advance, etc.

My last question: "What will be the result of applying for this job, dammit!"

11.1.2.5 > 39

I have gotten this one before, about a still unresolved odd painful relationship situation. It stuck with me.

But can't see how it applies to this question!
Perhaps the " grass with entangled roots" is the insecurity I must face to apply?

I don't like line 2! As my friend would be my manager, I wonder if leaving friends behind could mean disappointing her, now that I have initiated, but am considering declining the actual interview.

However line 5 feels hopeful. "Being given a place to have some kind of benefit."

A previous reading, 41>49, also had a line about being given some kind of gift, or opening myself up to recieve.
Does this indicate a better offer down the road that I must be patient for?

🙏

All the readings:

"How should I approach this offer?"

37.1.2.3.

In retrospect, Line 2 of this one seemed to indicate not making the choice immediately, and instead being content to enjoy the rainy day at home and make the soup I was planning 😅

"Should I even try?"

5.1 (I interpreted through Taoscopy where it said "informing the others one is not yet mature enough" but could also mean patience)

"What will be the outcome of taking this job?"
41.2.3.4.5.6>47

Decrease expectations, leads to change...hm.

8.4.6
Seems to be about getting worked up over nothing, leave anxiety behind

Clearly this offer is pulling up quite a lot of emotion for me. I just don't want to go through all the trouble of applying and interviewing only to let my friend down. It would be better to just cut losses while ahead. I have respect for this friend and the advances she's made to being the manager and chef. I suppose part of me feels afraid to be exposed as inferior, since I will require accomodations for my disabilities and have not met with understanding at previous jobs.

I also have long harbored dreams of making money via Etsy shop or by working from home, but received a very clear "no" from the Yi for taking action on that right now.

It would be helpful if you wrote your casts in full, i.e. 1st hexagram, changing lines, 2nd hexagram.
Otherwise we need to take paper and pencil and figure them out, then work out the meaning.

How should I approach this offer?
37.1.2.3 > 59

If you take it, you'll work in a familiar but strict environment. The familiar feeling will then disappear.

Should I even try?
5.1 > 48

No.

What will be the outcome of taking this job?
41.2.3.4.5.6 > 49

You'll earn very little and you'll get exhausted by it.

(what was the question?)
8.4.6 > 12

Being with someone publicly, but there's no guidance or basis to this connection (or someone changes their mind), and there's a separation.

What will be the result of applying for this job, dammit!
11.1.2.5 > 39

It will start well, soon become a struggle, but you'll continue. Result will be it will prove impossible to keep.

thank you, I will keep that in mind for future posts (writing out the lines and resulting hex)

update: I ended up deciding not to apply, and sent my friend a cordial message that I reconsidered for health reasons. They responded kindly and that was that.

The Yi continues to indicate there is some other possibility on the horizon I can't yet see. At this time what's needed is simply trust.
