I have a post on 02-11-2015 and I thought it would be nice to let the Forum know what has happened since
I asked the IC 'will my patner write a codicil for me when I ask him'
For me it was a big problem to ask, but his answer was very sweet, it was no problem at all
I hope I am not too demanding with all the following questions...
I have edited my post, because I think I have asked too much
My partner has given the lawyer the task to prepare a document so his shares in one company will be executed to me (however the lawyer is not very speedy)
I asked
Will my partner sign before he leaves the country again
I got 12.5>35

The word blocked (or obstruction) implies forces opposing each other, but the hexagram is about forces going their separate ways without encountering, blocking or obstructing each other. Blocked is Hexagram 39. This is just a bad and misleading translation for 12. People who use it fail to understand the underlying principle because the model is wrong. I am sorry that this includes Hilary's book, but too many others have made this error (or the equally problematic Obstruction) as well, including Karcher, Cleary, Lynn, Whincup and even Shaughnessy (although he also uses the much better title "negation").
Blocked in the very limited sense of writer's block might apply here, but only if it's analogous to something like constipation. The word stopped or clogged is sometimes used in this sense for 否. The force that's keeping things stagnant doesn't come from the outside. It's more of a lack of energy or flow or supportive forces, or a function of internal constraints, than an opposing or resisting force. And unfortunately this limited sense of the word blocked doesn't imply any of the other important aspects of 否, such as disconnection, dissociation, negation or alienation. It's important when picking our titles to both translate the word correctly and to cover the best range of its implications in the Yi's context. Too many people just get stuck on the one-word translation and don't get much further in their understanding.
