14.1.2.4.6 > 15 Relationship, stars and Yi

I met someone recently and we connect quite well. There's some very nice chemistry that we both acknowledge and I'm curious what the potential is for us. However, she is an astrologer and feels there are some unfavorable aspects in how our charts line up. The Western astro compatibility is very strong, but the Vedic system isn't so strong. Because of that she's reluctant to explore our connection further, though would like to be friends.

I asked Yi to comment on the potential for a romantic relationship and got the following:
14.1.2.4.6 > 15.

That certainly seems like a favorable cast, but given the astrological concerns she's expressed I'm not sure how to interpret it. Is this something that might have more potential than indicated by the horoscope? Or would it be advisable to take her reluctance at face value and let it go?

I also asked for comment on what would be helpful for me to know about a girlfriend, partner coming into my life and got: 34.4 > 11. This also seems encouraging.

I think that Yi has responded to your quest for great potential between yourself and another, something you desire at this time, which can easily be squandered and/or mistaken through bad choices and egotistical free will (line 1), if pride gets the best of someone. It's best to approach this person with modesty (hex 15) and not try to direct the situation in a particular direction that you want. Perhaps she is focusing too much on a preconceived notion like astrological compatibility, rather than allowing the connection to develop on its own. Perhaps you are focusing too much on how you feel good within the relationship and not on naturally separating aspects that exist between you. Whichever way the wind blows is probably something you know better than me

Line 4 is a wonderful line that tells you that no matter what will happen it will be for the best. It's important to note that it does not tell you, that the Heavens are working to make what you want to happen happen. If I ask about something I want that is bad for me in the long run and I receive this answer, it is more likely to mean that by grace I'll be saved from the situation rather than helped along it.

So, how do we know what the potential really is between X and Y? The answer is we don't, and that's the attitude Hex 15 is asking you to assume. Modesty is maybe the most important and attractive trait to have when it comes to the value system the I Ching was created in. This casting is quite spiritual for me, so in case you are not as spiritual you can adapt this to your own system of values, but I think of this Hexagram pair when I think of the grace of God/the Heavens. How we best respond to those gifts is by acknowledging our unworthiness, because it is the unwarranted nature of the gift that makes the gift from God/the Heavens great. No matter how the relationship evolves, take a humble attitude. Be thankful for the good you get from the relationship and be humble in the face of the bad. True modesty is being a person who lets go of their wants and desires to steer the course and has a purely accepting and receiving heart to the middle path. That seems to be the advice you've gotten from the Yi at this time.

34.4 > 11

Again, I feel that Yi has rephrased its answer, and told you that willpower is an obstacle here. Hexagram 34 is about adhering to the correct path for each person and line 4 especially reminds us to not force things into being as the middle path is never found by brute force. I think this is a positive casting as the Hexagram changes to 11 which is a very gentle message to surrender your power from your will. Your power will not go away but rather become stronger when it comes to attracting the right person to your life.

Thank you, angelstalk. I really appreciate the depth of your answer and as much as modesty and the middle way feels challenging when it comes to something I would really like in my life, it does resonate with an appropriate way to proceed.
