14.1 to 50 could mean fear??

Someone I cared about has behaved in a way I found hurtful and puzzling.

I asked the iching what were the reasons for acting this way, seeing as I don't think the person is stupid or superficial, I thought it could be perhaps weakness rather than 'wickedness'.

I got 14.1 changing to 50.

This seems to portray someone being cautios and removing one self from a potentially harmful situation.

I know this could also be me, but in my history consulting the iching with this person i always got their perspective when asking about their actions.

could this person have acted this way because of fear of getting involved in something they couldn't control? that was one of my feelings about them and wanted to know if someone has more experience with these lines.

I think your interpretation that the friend was fearful of a situation they could not control makes sense.
14.1 is about being cautious when confronted with a situation that is new. The new situation could have many benefits but also unexpected obligations.
People who have suddenly won large sums of money often find the blessing turns out to lead to unanticipated results.

i was a bit disappointed that this person could just see the situation in terms of 'the danger' since we shared some really good times, and the fact that the reading suggests he could also sense the benefits but was too worried about the unexpected coule be a very accurate perspective on our situation.

when i asked the iching what should be the next stage for me in this situation I cast 13 to 49 , and when I asked what were this person's feelings immediately after we had a brief public encounter after a long hiatus I cast 53 to 37, both readings are a little confusing for me, especially the second..

If you have any insights to share I would love to hear them!
